I'm all for the Blogpoll but I was disapointed to see the poll follow the lead of the national polls by dropping Arkansas out of the top 25 entirely. If there ever was a case for a team being dropped simply because it lost, this is it. If Alabama is #15, then how can Arkansas drop from a safe position in the teens all the way out? Arkansas lost on the road in a hostile environment with just a few seconds left on the clock. I was hoping the Blogpoll would take the national polls to task on this issue. Either Alabama should be ranked lower than #15, or Arkansas should be ranked.

Gravatar Does anyone know why Sears was dismissed from the team??? Apparently Lloyd just said no comment.

Gravatar WOTS is drugs

Gravatar I thought WOTS was he sucked, and Michigan just used drugs as an excuse.

Gravatar Actually, it was both: Sears was high on suck-juice.

Gravatar There's no reason for Louisville to be ranked at all. Scoring a bunch of points against Murray State and surviving MTSU is not impressive. Arkansas (beat Troy) and Nebraska (beat Nevada and Wake Forest) are more deserving.

And don't knock a win over Troy. They played the Gators closer than Tennessee did.

Gravatar After you called me out last week, I couldn't meekly drop them out, could I? If they lose to A&M, they'll be gone the foreseeable future. If they beat A&M, I won't be the only one ranking the Hurricanes.

Gravatar Seriously, agree with the first post and the guy above me. Arkansas loses a 3 point shootout on the road to a top 15 team and they're gone? The blogpoll is getting just as bad as the ap. Speaking of bad ballots...no mention of rockytoptalk moving nebraska UP one spot after this week, 18 to 17?! And you chastise one voter for moving them down "only" two spots.

Gravatar "guy above me" is now two guys above my orginal post. stupid sneaking in while I'm typing.

Gravatar I'm with you guys re: Arky, but the poll is the poll.

Gravatar Seriously – I looked at my ballot from last week, what happened on Saturday, and had to rank Bama 11. Not that I think Bama's that good. I don't. But this year's No. 11 is a decent year's No. 20.

Gravatar Don’t you go insulting us “resume rankers” now.

First of all, notice your top three in the Mr. Bold category – Sunday Morning Quarterback, Saurian Sagacity (me) and Dawg Sports. All three are dedicated resume rankers. And isn’t bold what we want?

Second, and I don’t intend to defend SMQ here (he can do that himself as we are all well aware), but I too have Kansas ahead of Texas. (Kansas is 17th in my poll, Texas 25th). It is entirely defensible when you look at their games –

Kansas

Central Michigan 52-7
SE Louisiana 62-0
Toledo 45-13

Total Score 159-20

Texas

Arkansas St 21-13
TCU 34-13
UCF 35-32

Total Score 90-58

Texas is essentially 2 plays from being 1-2. Kansas is blowing out their lesser opponents.

Plus, a TCU win is simply not impressive, as TCU is 1-2 winning only over Baylor.

Resume ranking is the future. Get on board now.

Gravatar As a BlogPoll voter (1/3 of California Golden Blogs), I'm a little embarassed to say I left Arkansas off my ballot, and now that it's been pointed out to me, I'd probably change it. Certainly will next week.

I think perhaps the drop was in part because, before last weekend, I wasn't all that confident in ranking them that high in the first place. Honestly, after my top 5 spots, I'm still uneasy about most of my ballot.

Not uneasy about not ranking Kansas at all, however. They gotta do more than beat up patsys to get ranked. sorry.

Gravatar We at DD did not drop Arkansas out. We saw that game and obviously it could have gone either way. We dont think so highly of Alabama just the same (15). As another poster pointed out above, this year's 15 is a decent years "others receiving votes."

Who is going to beat Oklahoma this season on their way to the Big 12 championship? Will they beat LSU in a title game? It would be a pick-em. We pick Ok ...
