I love how there aren't really any comments to speak of here. I suppose this really is the epitome of "well... duh."

Maybe Jay is saving Michigan for the "most overachieving" list given all that Amaker had to overcome! /sarcasm off

Anyone want to guess which will be Bilas' Most Underachieving Team of the 2007-2008 season if Michigan doesn't make the tournament?

Ummmm, when you think about all the California talent that goes else where, that props up the Pac 10 and all the national players UCLA name gives access too, well I can see his point. They should be winning a championship every 2 years. They've also played horrible in those said final fours getting thoroughly dominated..........

Same goes for Maryland...No way these two schools with all that local talent should not be competing for national championships on the regular..

if ucla is 'underachieving,' than Duke is uber-underachieving. or is it under-uber? either way, it's ridiculous.

Carr took Russel Crowe up on his offer to visit Austrailia for a lesson in rugby. Fun story, though obviously misinformed on a number of aspects of American football. God bless Google alerts!

If, as Bilas would have us believe, UM was not massively underachieving under Amaker then he should be very happy his friend was released from his commitment to UM. If UM is such a horrible place that never going to the tourney is expected then Amaker is better off not coaching there. In the Bilas world, this is win/win. UM gets rid of Amaker and Amaker gets the anchor of the UM program off his career and is free from the delusional UM fan base.

Mr. Bilas doesn't seem to take into account that all season long, the UM basketball team has been hampered by court conditions that somehow favor the opponets ...

Hilarious.
There, in the wildly popular arena of US college sports, Carr is nothing short of a living legend.
As head coach of the University of Michigan Wolverines since 1995, Carr is the "winningest" college football coach in the States and as big a name as they come.
Think Wayne Bennett in Brisbane. Then multiply by 20.
Wayne Bennett = Bobby Williams?

NOw this shit is getting a little bit out of hand. WTF does he want a degree in Theoretical Physics, a MNC and a SuperBowl MVP?? Well if he is as smart as he clains himself to be then he should have stuck with his major of choice. I am sure Bo would have lauded him for his strength!!
I mean other than Elway and that @#$%ed up ending to a game, Stanford has offered nothing to the game of College football.Meanwhile UM is one of the all time greats in CF, where the @#$% is the comparison.

About JH, I supported him earlier.. but now he clearly comes across as a attention seeking asshat. I will be mighty pissed if we lose a recruit or two because of this asshat's comments.
Our defensive collapse against OSU, USC
Offseason Fulmer Cup points
Secretive practice / toothless spring game
Harbaugh's asshattery
make this yet another disappointing offseason.

The Original C -
I'm not going to say that Stanford has as much tradition as UM/OSU/ND, but it has contributed a lot to the game. Starting with Fielding Yost (1900), Pop Warner who invented the single wing - the biggest development in fifty years of football, the first Rose Bowl, the quarterback factory that pushed forward the development of the passing offense, Ernie Nevers, Elway - Stanford has given a lot to college football.

Dude, Yost was at Stan for a year, and it was Yost's initiative that lead to the game. And god damit those losers quit in the third quarter after getting crushed, please. Elway, yes warner yes. but still...please don't put UM football and Stanford football in the same bracket.

Orig C- Dude, what's with the rage against Stanford? Are you that pissed that JH said that Michigan gives rubber-stamp degrees? How does that even hurt the program?
Stanford hasn't had a lot of truly great players (although they did have Ernie Nevers, one of the best ever) but technically they've usually been ahead of the curve, until about five years ago. That's a fact.

I'm surprised more people haven't wondered aloud whether Harbaugh meant to say "the people who adulated [me] won’t hire [me].
And what was the deal with him in that ESPN clip? Did he think he was coaching that wacky Stanford band?
One more thing, 49-0 biatch.

I have got nothing against them, I have friends there, was there on research for a summer, and love that place. BUt, when JH goes all these lengths to diss us and pump up Stanford, i do feel the need to stand up for my school, even though its not on a national stage. NOw, if you are a Stan alum, i understand your logic and respect it. BUt JH simply comparing Stan with us and calling us out, seems ridiculous, especially sinc we are quite ahead of the curve when it comes to football!!!

I don't get why Arizona State, South Carolina and Rutgers are even on this list.
Don't you have to be "achieving" before you can be "underachieving"?
