first?

I had no idea there was an actual board. I thought it was just a spreadsheet Brian kept or something.

Gravatar Why are we losing in-state OL to Wisky? Was Mattias a big loss?

Gravatar I don't think we were even recruiting Mattias.

According to the Scout board, he wasn't even offered by U of M.

Gravatar I am underwhelmed by Tipton, at this point.

And it doesn't sound like we were after Matthias too hard:

Gravatar The way I figure it with the Barwis effect all of our recruits go up one star from their rankings on Rivals/Scout. We will be fine. osu can keep getting after large and slow LBs all they want. The offense Rich brings will prey on just that. I really like what I am seeing on both recruiting fronts.

Gravatar I think the knock on Mattias is poor lateral movement, FWIW.

Gravatar The knock on BGH is an inaccurate throwing arm and poor mechanics.

Gravatar Matthias isn't from Florida.

True, but I have a cannon for an arm and I compete harder than anyone, excepting Psycho T.

Gravatar I'm pretty sure that Will Campbell quote is old. It's from early this year, but was probably just re-used in the story.
I don't feel like doing the work to verify it. I just want to make everyone else as paranoid as I am.

Gravatar "Toussaint has a 2.5 GPA and a 15 on his ACT"

15?!

Sweet Jesus, I got a 17 when I was in 6th grade.

Gravatar Campbell is a stud. He's made several quotes to similiar effect, so it may sound recycled even though its not. I'm not sure, though.

Anyway, I think he's going to be a Wolverine. He's a different story than ROJO and Nick Perry because (a) he's got teamates like Teric Jones and BooBoo already lined up to play for the Wolverines and (b) it would be entirely too heartbreaking to to lose another stud to Cheat Carroll. U of M has a lot of hype around the program right now, it's obvious that Barwis will help players become physically prepared for the NFL, and Campbell has pretty much said, time and again, that he's blue and just wants to travel.

I think it's his insane skill level that gets us so paranoid. I think he's going to stand out in a way that exceeds ROJO and Perry. I mean, this guy was so good at a recent camp that he had to line up as an O Lineman and was still absolutely killing people.

Gravatar I am not worried....but I figured there would be a little bit more of a buzz this week surrounding the camp....

Gravatar You know what Toussaint's last name reminds me of now?

Why Brian Cook is a loser with his sole redeeming quality being that he runs a site about Michigan football. What a queer.

Gravatar Also, if you were "Insert Team Here" bringing in Campbell for a visit....why would you even bother?

Gravatar Camp is a yawner. It looks like Beaver had to be home for summerschool (Scout poster) today. He apparently wants to enroll early.
Some of the biggies aren't showing up til later today, or will not at all.
Josh boyd will be here all week.
I don't understand the Scout Fever over Zurelon Tipton, but in true Scout fashion, some of the posters there want him to play linebacker.

Gravatar Sweet Jesus, I got a 17 when I was in 6th grade.

how do you go about taking the ACT in 6th grade?

Gravatar Looks like "No Child Left Behind" leaves a few behind.

Gravatar Easy...that had a ton of AP courses at his Elementary School.

Gravatar work sucks.

Gravatar DanK, it was part of that Duke University Talent Identification Program thingy. If you scored high enough, you got to go to Durham and get some kind of award. Whoopty-freaking-do, I know.

Gravatar Those tests are culturally biased, Coach.

No child left behind only applies to white, suburban children.

No white suburban middle class children are left behind. FACT.

Gravatar Love the Blue Chips reference, Neon. Good job.

Gravatar Haha nice Blue Chips reference, Neon.

Gravatar BYU/Utah to the Pac-10??

Well, I mean, obviously you come from a different intellectual bracket than FT. I'm assuming, a very different social situation as well. Funny, how those things are tied together. In many ways, the ACT/SAT test familiarity with certain academic concepts as opposed to actual comptency.

Gravatar "The way I figure it with the Barwis effect all of our recruits go up one star from their rankings on Rivals/Scout. We will be fine."

I'm looking forward to watching the 6* recruits.

BTW, I have a feeling that Jordan Barnes might commit this week. I don't have a subscription to Scout or Rivals, but the snippets I have read suggest that he's really into UM and I imagine that his coming back for another visit is a good thing. Besides, isn't he legacy at UM or something?

Gravatar I could be wrong, so feel free to correct me.

Gravatar Fitzgerald Toussaint as perhaps Michigan's greatest pair of names in a recruiting class since Zoltan Mesko and Mister Simpson committed on one glorious day

Toussaint is paired with Shavodrick Beaver - case closed.

We also have Mike Cox.

Rich Rod will not let us down in the name department - remember he is the one who recruited Dingle and Berry and sat them next to each other on the bench. All your ridiculous names are belong to us.

Gravatar According to my inside sources at buckeye helm, the best player we have is C.J. Barnett. If you can snake him away, you will be good. If not, you will not be good.

Thanks

Gravatar BYU/Utah to the Pac-10??
---
letting mormons into the pac-10 is tantamount to letting catholics into the big ten and well thank fucking god fielding yost and bo schembechler never let that happen.

Gravatar Seriously though, is Fitzgerald Toussaint REALLY better in the name department than Cobrani Mixon???? I have images of a dude in a blue kraut helmet and mirrored facemask every time I think of that name.

Gravatar Seriously though, is Fitzgerald Toussaint REALLY better in the name department than Cobrani Mixon????

Yes.

Gravatar Having someone with the last name of "Mingo" would be enough. But the bonus of a first name of "Barkevious"? I'm unbelievably excited.

Gravatar new post up

Gravatar I'm guessing he didn't get a 15 for spelling Toussaint correctly. I mean, with a 15 could you even spell Smith?

Gravatar Aren't you all forgetting Tim Biakabatuka? I'm not going to waste time googling to figure out how to spell his first name or confirm the last name.........

Gravatar a pratchett reference? awesome.

Gravatar A 15 ACT by a UM recruit... no surprise there. I see a future general studies major.
