I'm not sure who Steve Threat is, but I don't ever remember anyone saying that Steve Threet would be a career bench warmer - dude was a 4* elite 11 qb.
It was a good thing he left when he did from GaTech - 1. for him because he was not a fit for the new GT triple option system - 2. because UM would be in the David Cone era.

the university of ohio state is just tOSU's new moniker. they're hoping it'll help them beat the SEC. Like, the SEC will get confused who they're playing (most likely, with the closely named Ohio University), prepare for a MAC squad, and then - BAM - the buckeyes emerge.

Poguemahone,
If you'd been paying any sort of attention, a lot of people (including our mostly fearless leader here) were pretty skeptical about Mr. Pryor in the first place. The problem is you can't deny that he's pretty good on film and is now going to play with our sworn enemy. It's a mixed bag, and the "predictable CFB fans" are behaving as such.
Personally I'm glad I can hate on the guy openly finally. Hopefully one of our unknowns will pan out in the end?

Did Pryor say University of .... (*wait a second to tease us*, then) Ohio State!
Was this done out of spite? Are we underestimating his Buckeye-ness?

Repost from the end of the last as I am in the same boat with Seattle:
"The fact is, Michigan-ND-OSU-PSU etc are all pretty fucking good schools for academics."
Dex,
I'll agree that all of those schools are pretty good for academics. The big difference I see is the intelligence level of the general student population, and where that tends to come out is everyday conversation.
@Keegan:
I decided a while ago that life's too fucking short to be a nice guy all the time. Is some of the stuff I do embarrassing? Yes. Do I come off as an asshole sometimes? Yes. As a general rule does it really hurt anyone? No. So until someone jumps in front of a bus because I'm an arrogant asshole I'll continue being one. When that happens, well, I'll stop. And by "stop" I mean point and laugh and order a round of shots.

Before people get upset, let's see how he is against tough competition. Western Pennsylvania isn't like Florida, Texas, SoCal, or Ohio when it comes to competition.

One player doesn't make a team, but the persona and ego can. This was my attitude and after signing day I lost my interest in Pryor.
Besides, Michigan has been annually fantastic against big, option-attack, aerial threat quarterbacks over the past few years. Of those we had faced who were in-form and doing well, we were able to handle Tim Tebow, Michael Robinson (the 2005 Michael Robinson, not that he was, you know, that great), and Vince Young.

I invented running and perfected weight lifting! It's not like I'm just another S&C guy brought in by a school who has been in the conditioning dark ages for the past decade. No, my fanboys totally know what they are talking about and aren't totally over-hyping me because they are completely ignorant to the techniques used in most modern college S&C programs. I'm unique! I eat worlds! Every morning I knock down the immovable object and stiff arm the irresistible force. I make my players practice every day! Who does that?

Trolls, Trolls, Trolls,
I just dont get it. Why come to this board? Are you seriously that psychologically empty, incomplete and insecure that you would spend time out of your day reading a rivals board? Are you afraid we will say something that seriously needs to be defended by you? Or is it just because your self-esteem is so tied to OSU's success, that you feel the need to taunt someone. I respect the rivalry and have a very healthy hatred for OSU, but I cannot for a second ever imagine wanting to hang out with you people on a message board. Nor would I ever feel the need to taunt you from the anonymous safety of the message board. Talk to me. Don't run away now. Let's figure out why you feel so empty inside. Is it Daddy issues? Were you teased as a child? Do you hate your job? Does your wife beat you? Come on, as long as you insist on sitting on this board, lets make it productive time for you.

I'll take you up on your offer.
I seldom look at your board. I never even knew it existed till a friend pointed out how entertaining it was reading about your fan base melt down during the coaching search. It was entertaining to watch and an informative example of human nature in the areas of wish fulfillment, angst, and arm chair quarterbacking. You see the same in any fan base but it was multiplied by your situation.
And believe me ...it was entertaining.
And so occasionally, when there was Pryor news, I would check in here to see your reactions (and the OSU boards too). However this is my first time posting here.
I came for entertainment... like some people like to watch ants scurry around after the anthill is kicked over. It can be fascinating in a warped kind of way.
But today i had to say something because the hypocracy was just getting a little thick.
And besides....sometimes it really is fun to give the anthill a little nudge.
Sorry if I truly offended.

Ninja,
I may embarrass myself, but I don't know because I have little shame, if any. I'm brutally honest, a lot of people have a problem with that. My friends don't though, so that's why we get along. I don't get pissed when people try to offend me, I don't know if anyone can flip me shit and actually have it piss me off. I only get pissed at stupidity. If you can't roll with the punches in life, you'll eventually catch one to the nads.
At least that's what my mom says.
OSUTroll,
You should check out your fan base sometimes. I realize UM fans are paranoid and pessimistic. But every fan base has it's quirks. No offense, but yours are assholes who tend to be arrogant ones. Not that you are, but the perception around your fans is that. Alabama fans are irrational and delusional. USC fans are rich snobs, Oregon fans are hippies, etc, etc... The point is, don't be a troll that just rolls around claiming one fan base is better than the other. We are all fanatics in our own crazy way.

The guy was obviously very nervous, making the biggest decision, so far, of his life. He may have been trying to make a joke but was so nervous he screwed it up...who cares.
This DOES add a bit to the rivalry. Good for everybody! Go ahead and hate him, oh spurned girlfriend!
I'm surprised you Blue fans haven't mentioned the kudos he gave to Rich Rod, particularly since Pryor pretty much dissed PSU and ignored Oregon. I'd still would have liked to have been the fly on the wall when he talked to Joe Pa. Yikes. I would guess if there was an Oscar for most Awkward Performance it might have been in the running.

I never said OSU had a better fan base... I just said the situation at your school was such that it led to a more entertaining meltdown than what was going on at OSU at the time. I assure you, the OSU fanbase was more entertaining than yours after the MNC debacle. (good job on FL by the way)
I really don't think there is any difference in fanbases in general. All have thinkers and stinkers. If you really look at posts on the OSU and UM boards they're incredibly similar, just change a few names (or psuedonames) and it could come from either school.
It's true UM fans are mostly arrogant.
It's also true that most OSU fans are arrogant.
Winners become arrogant, fiercely loyal and totally irrational...and that's where the entertainment comes in IMHO.

A great strip club story:
My buddy (almost broke at the time) walks into a strip club with $10 bucks. Stripper comes up and says "what a private dance"
Buddy: I only have ten bucks and I am going to want a drink.
Stripper: Well that isn't enough for me.
Buddy: Yeah, but I'm going to bet when you were young you did more than dance and you did it for free. I'll also bet you did it with worse looking guys than me. So how about you just give me the dance for $5 now?

Henne,
I don't care if you care or not, but you seemed to be the only one who wanted to talk football right now. I went and watched a few videos on Threet, I had never seen anything on him before.
Pros:
-Good size, Tebow-esque when he runs
-Accurate on tough throws (outs, curls seems)
-Good strength on the long ball, looks fairly effortless
-Ran some form of spread so the transition shouldn't be too bad
-uses legs to make throws
Cons:
-Tends to be off-balance when he throws. His feet get set but his mechanics force him to lose balance. Probably throws high or wide every now and then.
-Funky release. Looks like Phillip River or VY. Low release, with a little wind up. He doesn't aim it as much as VY did, it's more of a flip, which is good IMO.
-Not ninja mobile like Slaton, but a better passer.
-Has diamond earings
I'm not terribly worried long term with him. First 5 games scare the shit out of me. God I hope Shafer can pull this D together instantly.

Keegan, thanks for the info.
I think the cons aren't too bad. As long as he can make most of his throws, that's all that matters. If watching Shawn Marion has taught me anything, it's that ugly form can produce beautiful results.
I think it's good he's tebow-esque, even better that he has good arm strength. As far as I'm concerned, as long as he can lead and be tough, we'll be okay.
As for the first 5 gives, it's a learning curve. The real season begins with the Big Ten.

OSUTroll,
I was at that game too. Crappy weather that day, great first half and an unbelievably dissapointing 2nd half, but on a sunny Saturday, I cannot think of a more scenic venue in the country. Plus, its got to be the only place where there is a huge tailgate between luxury yachts before the game, just outside the stadium.

Does anyone really believe a freshman QB was going to lead us to the national title or Big 10 title next year? Nope. I've very excited about the RR era, and know that the transition will take a year or two. Actually, Threet, a 4 star QB, is not a bad place to start. The reality is that RR never had that level of talent to start with. He's not an exact fit for RR's system, but I think he'll be successful.
I'm more than willing to deal with the pain of moving to a new system, since I know Lloyd is no longer in charge.

I think that Threet's mobility will surprise a lot of people. He is a tall, white guy, who isn't that fast, but he is deceptively quick. RR is going to tailor the offense to the capabilities of Threet, but he is not going to throw out the WVU style of offense. Threet will get a decent amount of carries next year, and he won't be a stranger to running with the ball.

Threet is an ok fit?
UMMMM Shawn King
First player in NCAA history to run & pass for 2000 yds in a single season. I believe thats one more than sweater vest "troy smith has not done anything"
Threet is more athletic and mobile than Shawn King has ever been. RR used Pat White to the best of his ability. RR would have probably liked to be more balanced. WVU fans bitch all the time about only running four plays. But Pat White was very limited. TP would have been a great great pick up for us but Threet will be a very productive player.

I'm sure Perry knew this, but there were 3 or 4 other 4 star DE's on the roster, not to mention the another 5* and 4* DE they are offering this year. I conclude that Perry is a moron, and should have stayed in state.

This should come as a surprise to no one. OSU had been recruiting Pryor for a long time, whereas we only entered the picture on December 16 (but the fact that RR came so close to landing him despite OSU's head start should inspire confidence in his recruiting ability). Also, if Pryor's statements at the press conference are to be taken at face value, then you can't blame him for choosing OSU, since it sounded like he never really wanted to be handed the keys to the offense as a freshman. I think he's made similar statements in the past as well.
No big deal. Life will go on.

Hello friends,
Well, it's taken the news of TP committing to the University of Ohio State (wtf?) to actually awaken my typing skills again. I guess it's time to look over the mountain of snow in my yard and consider the implications. They are, fortunately, few.
So basically a 5 star quarterback decided not to attend the U of M. He held off his decision for a month, got a diva-like amount of attention and some national media. Nice.
Apparently, this is so exciting that OSU trolls are all over the boards going on about this as if it's really that compelling. I'm pretty much "meh" on the topic. Michigan will recruit quarterbacks next year and definitely pick up a 4 or 5 star. In the meantime a 4 star elite 11 quarterback will somehow have to hold up in the evolved RichRod offense.
I wish Terelle Pryor well at Ohio State; I'm sure things will be okay in AA. Seems to me that everyone was a little worried about the coaching search and that seems to have turned out okay. Same with the S&C situation, new weight room, practice facilities, stadium improvements (mostly) etc.
It would have been nice to pick up TP but, really, it's a committment from an 18 year old with some potential to help the team, nothing more. He might have helped but he's not coming. Best wishes to him; let's move on.
Best wishes all.

I was overwhelmed with criticism.
All of us have observed what has happened to date. He has won a basketball championship but has threatened to fight the supporters and the team he has vanquished more than once along the way.
I rest my case- this kid's decision making at this point is not the best and OSU needs to work with him to prevent further incidents.

So, here's the thing that gets me about the Pryor saga. We've already seen his sketchy impulse control/decision making processes with the narrowly-avoided basketball melees. So today we find out the last piece in the three-schools story -- his parents wanted him to go to Penn State, his middle-aged businessman "friends" wanted him to go to tOSU, and Charlie Batch (not even an alum, mind you) wanted him to go to Michigan. Whose advice does he take? Why are these businessmen "friends" with a high school student anyway? Why do they care where he goes to school?
I don't wish the kid ill, but I'm not sure the Buckeyes got such a great deal today. There may well be more baggage than meets the eye. Of course, Pryor is such a level-headed guy I'm sure he's going to be a model citizen in Columbus and not drag any unnecessary scrutiny his way.

From ESPN's Pryor Timeline:
Oct. 27, 2007: Ohio state football coach Jim Tressel and OSU basketball coach Thad Matta are in the house to watch Pryor's regular-season finale. He has a hand in all six Jeannette touchdowns in a 42-6 win over Greensburg (Pa.) Central Catholic.
Pryor tells the Cleveland Plain Dealer after the game, "I do that all day, every day. Ev-ery day. Everyday."
I hope Rich Rod responded to Pryor's decision on the phone with "We're going to crush every f@!** bone in your body when we play you and those ass clowns."

VA,
No offense, I had a buddy who couldn't decide whether to wipe with his left or right. He was a pansy, spoiled, whiner off the field. On the field, he was an all-state QB who threw for 3,000 yds in 11 games and we had a 1000 yd rusher so it wasn't just the offense. Don't say that because he didn't make the biggest decision of his life on yours or anybody else's time frame, correlates to him not being able to make good decisions during a game. Now, does it correlate to off the field decisions, maybe. But Ryan Leaf made good decisions on the field in HS, how did that work out.
I am not trying to blast you on this, just a different opinion.
Other Chris,
We don't know what Batch wanted, we only know that NFL personnel said that RR's offense would allow him to translate into an NFL QB. Unless I missed a quote, then I am sorry.

I was actually a bit impressed that TP apologized to RR. He didn't have to do that; it's his choice where he goes to college.
Hey, if TP is really that good, then it only makes Michigan look better if it beats him and the Buckeyes. That would be a really high quality win and it would make a lot of people eat their words.
I am confident that Shafer and RR are smart guys who can come up with a game plan to shut down TP. He wouldn't be the first super recruit to lose, and he wouldn't be the last.

Brian said it perfectly. I felt like I knew from the start he wasn't coming here which is why I was crossing my fingers for Oregon. If I was him, it would've been either Oregon or OSU, and especially if he's the kind of guy that doesn't like all the pressure of making a decision right away, going straight to starting QB and expected savior is not the right place for him.
I think the people that are blasting him for being a media whore/etc are a bit off base. He's just an 18 year-old-kid, and I'll defend him the same way I defended Mallett when the Wolverine faithful were ready to jump all over him. Nonetheless, I am excited to see Steven Threet (and maybe Feagin, too) run the kind of offense Rodriguez used at Clemson. I'm sure I'll start hating on TP soon enough when he's playing us, but until then he's just a kid and this is, after all, just a game (though I do still hate OSU).

In 1991 and 1992 there was a pizzeria called Gepetto's and they would deliver these individual-sized pizzas late into the night I think for some ridiculously low price like $3.50 and only $.25 each topping. At that time this was the best pizza around but then around 1993 it came under new ownership and everything went downhill. There, I am done.

I have insomnia, seriously...
let me put in my two cents about pizza. For a quick, cheap slice of pie, I go to backroom pizza. it's pretty decent stuff.
the NYPD on South U is just terrible. flat out terrible. I've never tried the one by state street, but i've heard good things about it.
Never tried silvios organic pizza. also heard good things, but the vegetarian/fruit menu just doesn't appeal to me.
Cottage Inn, Papa John, good stuff but more expensive.
Dominos 555 deal is good.
Pizza house, overrated, but probably the best sit-in pizza restaurant.
Buddy's pizza, not that great.
I really like Happy's Pizza on Main. It's pretty affordable, but greasy as hell. that's probably why I like it.
can't think of any other places, but there's probably lots on South campus that I've never heard of.
trying to get some sleep now.

How depressing to be a Go Blow supporter. First you hire a coach that can't keep his word, then the QB you needed since your team sucks, bolts for your rival.
Then the typical, overtyped "cheating OSU, dumb OSU" jokes.
I feel sorry for you. Maybe you can set a new record and lose to a Div 2 team two years in a row.
Face it, nobody wants to go to Michigan.

First I must admit I am not a fan of Michigan but I do like to keep up with college football happenings and do read this blog because I usually find it insightful as to the happenings with your program. I followed it religiously during the coaching search as well as during the fallout after the hire. I am somewhat disappointed in the lack of coverage of the Terrelle Pryor situation. I really did expect the fans of the program to act this way, it's natural to be disappointed when you put the next couple years on the shoulders of a young man and he turns his back to you, but I expected to see more on this blog than three words. I didn't think the author of this site would go in the tank with the rest of the fans. Brian, when UM hired John B. and Rich R. away from WVU you were right there with every other UM fan advising all Mountaineer fans to get over it. Shouldn't you be doing the same? Instead of hiding your head in the sand shouldn't you be discussing the next rabbit RichRod is going to pull out of his hat?

Clearly you are a misinformed college football fan. Appalachian State is 1-AA punk! Technically speaking they are FCS. Get it right for crying out loud! Grand Valley State and Slippery Rock are D2 schools.
Anyway, I am a PSU fan and I figured TP was going to the "University of Ohio State" for a long time despite the hightened speculation he may choose PSU (Yeah right). The thing that gets me is he mentioned that he made the decision because he felt he would have a better chance at becoming a pro quarterback. REALLY??? Clearly the kid did little research and in five years, will this all really matter?

Holy *#$%! Pryor is going to OSU? I definitely did not see that coming.. No that hasn't been obvious for the last month and a half.. And no, I'm never sarcastic..
Threet was the no. 12 QB a couple years ago. He'll be the man. Yes the next year and a half will be rough. But we'll manage.
No. 1 QB recruits don't always pan out. Ask guys like JoePA how Morelli panned out. Todd Boeckman wasn't excitely a highly touted QB, nor was Sam Bradford (both much lower than Threet). Seems like it worked otu well for OK and OSU.

I also think Threet is a nice story. Kid is from MI, grew up a UM fan. Kid didn't have an offer from Michigan, attended 06 spring game, still didnt get an offer.
Instead he goes to Gtech, but transfers to U of M during the summer before the season starts (so he only loses 07 instead of 08 too, if he would have transferred later).
And now he's likely starting at U of M, his dream school, where he would likely have been a backup his career if he got an offer and if Mallett had stayed (if we still had a pro style offense).
Smart kid, cool story.

Jeff, you're an idiot. Brian isn't "going into the tank". He has posted, ad nauseum, that Pryor was going to OSU, making any excess hand-wringing or analysis today absolutely unnecessary. Pryor did what every single semi-rationale person thought he was going to do for the last 2 months. What else would you have him say?

Kevin,
What illustrious QB's (somewhat recently) do Paterno or RR have on their resume? The last PSU QB that played QB in the pros was Kerry fucking Collins. Michael Robinson is a RB, so he doesn't count.
And Rodriguez? The last QB he coached that went to the pros is Woody Dantzler, who only played as a kick returner. Before him, Shaun King, 10 years ago.
Tressell has had 2 QB's leave OSU in his time, and both went to the pros despite not having any athletic ability (Krenzel) or being 4'2" in stilts (Troy Smith).

gsimmons,
The poster said that Pryor choosing OSU over PSU or UM constituted a "lack of research" which is BS, seeing as the only QB Rodriguez sent to the NFL in his career was Shaun King (again, I'm not saying he can't, I'm merely saying that "research" indicates that RR QB does not strongly correlate to being an NFL QB), and PSU has sent 2 QB's to the pros in the past 2 decades. So, Tressell, being 2 for 2, even if they aren't spectacular, is a better track record. "Research" shows that.

You are right. We definitely "overtype" the "dumb OSU" jokes. Unfortunately, you don't do much to make our "overtyping" seem unwarranted.
First of all, you are thinking of I-AA, and not D-II. There is a pretty big difference. But let's say it was a slip. Great. So if you actually looked at our schedule, then you would notice that UM isn't even playing an FCS team this year. Kinda makes it hard for the Wolverines to "lose to a Div 2 team two years in a row," unless we are somehow placed in a bowl game against an FCS opponent or are kicked out of FBS and are forced to play at the FCS level.

What bothers me, I suppose, is that when people make claims like "Pryor went OSU because he didn't do research/got paid/etc." implies that he went to OSU because of his stupidity, as if it's a place that no elite football player ever would consider going, which is so incredibly wrong-headed, it's absurd. We're Michigan fans, we don't like OSU. That doesn't mean that every single football player that chooses them over Michigan is stupid, or was bribed. That's idiocy.

I think that the questions regarding TP's intelligence came from "tUOOS" and his assertion that OSU is some kind of an NFL QB factory (based on a sample size of 1). Other than that it mostly looks like he wants to ride the coattails of the returning players to a NC without feeling any pressure to produce, and he does not feel prepared to take a ledership role at Michigan.
Or he just likes OSU - but that is a boring answer and it leads us back to the lack of judgment / intelligence issue.

The NFL argument is stupid. Completely stupid. No school regularly puts starting QBs in the NFL enough to determine any kind of pattern. It's "common sense" that Michigan puts QBs in the league- ok, well those coaches are gone anyway so there goes that one. In no way does going to OSU disqualify you from being an NFL QB. It's simply not true.

I just think it's odd to have this great passion for OSU (but I would, wouldn't I?) when you're a kid from Pennsylvania and the adults you'd normally turn to for guidance suggest PSU or UM. I mean, no offense to OSU, but beating Michigan on an annual basis the last couple of years doesn't mean a lot to the rest of the country when you've lost pretty spectacularly in the postseason.
Why wasn't Florida on the radar if he was wanting to learn from a senior quarterback (his new party line)? Why not LSU? Okay, maybe he sees himself as a Big Ten kind of guy (why as a dual threat QB, but again, whatever) so what was all that Oregon talk about?
It all just seems strange.

RR was Shaun King's OC at Tulane. Between King and TS I would call that a push. It is not that OSU can't put a QB into the NFL, so much as there is no track record of having done so. To offer that as a justification is just kind of silly, making it look like he either had no good reason (other than the easy route to a possible NC as a pine-rider), or reasons that don't sound good during a press conference.

Devil's Advocate:
Tressell has coached 2 quartbacks at OSU that had an opportunity to be drafted so far - Krenzel, and Smith. Both were drafted, and both have taken pro snaps.
RR has coached upwards of 10 QB's. And one has taken a pro snap.
Finally, I'm not saying that Troy Smith will be a successful NFL QB, but the fact that he didn't play much in his rookie season is not an indication that he will be a failure. Condemning him to Shaun King/perrenial back-up hood is premature.

Devil's Advocate: Troy Smith won a Heisman. If he was taller, and had a stronger arm, he would have gotten drafted higher. Terrelle Pryor is taller. Terrelle Pryor is faster. And OSU, under Tressell, has run an offense that allows the QB to showcase both their running and passing skills. How is this possibly a bad fit, other than the fact that it doesn't fit in with what the Michigan fanbase wants?

I get it, but it just comes off as a little weak. No NFL teams are chomping at the bit to see which tUOOS will be selected in the 6th round of the draft. tUOOS fans talk all of the time about the glut of talent that Tressel has had to work with, but with the exception of TS, their QBs are largely place-holders that hand off the ball to Wells, etc.

tate would be a great fit for michigan. He has a tremendous arm and is very accurate. when the pocket breaks down, the boy can run and run fast.

I am just saying that Shaun King did not exactly have TP's physical gifts and was a starter for a while. Pat White can't throw, so he will not be a great NFL QB. I am just saying that comparing TS to Pat White is apples and oranges because of their different skill sets. Frankly, I think that any coach would have to be a moron to not find some way to take advantage of TP's skills.
I guess I just disagree with those who believe that the conversation would go something like this:
TP: Hey Coach Rodriguez, I am actually an excellent passer and would be a great passing spread QB.
RR: No, thanks. I prefer to underutilize your skills in a one-dimensional fashion. I took a mediocre group of players at WVU to national prominence based on my inability to take advantage of the talents of my players.

Coming from a true Michigan fan, we didn't want Pryor. Regardless of our current quarterback situation. After reading stories about how he handled pressure from crowds playing basketball in arenas that seat 2,000 fans, he sounds like a bit of a headcase. their QBs are largely place-holders that hand off the ball to Wells, etc.
And yet, OSU gets Krenzel to play mistake-free & effeciently enough to get an MNC. kid was a 3-star also ran, no M offer iirc.
Troy smith was a 4 star athlete who turned into a deadly accurate passer and heisman winner.
Boekman is Boekman.... yet somehow they got him to lead the B10 in passing eff for 80% of the year.
under tressel, osu QB play has *significantly* improved. and with little upgrade in talent, until now. as far as i'm concerned, Tressel is 3-for-3 with guys half as highly rated and half the athletic ability of TP.

Terrelle Pryor went to OSU because he wants a career in the NFL. Michigan is where NFL dreams go to die.
I like how this site's header is now a picture of #20, Mike The Mouth Hart. Couldn't be a better representative of Michigan football, than a midget with a mouth who didn't beat OSU in 4 years but still ran his mouth. Mike Hart has, comparatively speaking, a real dearth of physical skills. Nonethless, he played well above that fact for 4 years. He was never the reason that Michigan lost to OSU. He had a great game in 2006 and was obviously hurt in 2007.

OT: do you think an injury to ABass during spring ball would be the final straw that kills his career? i sure hope he makes it back in the fall. dude had mad potential.

What do you guys think about Carlos Brown taking snaps at QB? I heard he ran the exact same offense RR is running, down to the terminology, in HS and he had 4,000 rushing yards, 3,500 passing yards, and 70 TDs.

Didn't Junior Hemingway take some snaps at QB last year? Hmmmmmmm....I think we have an answer. Threet's a decoy.

In all seriousness, they may run Brown as a decoy, but Brown is the only tailback that RR has been enthusiastic about in his press conferences so far - he actually says Brown has good hands, and could line up in the slot a little bit as well.

Mark Huyge played QB for his 5th grade Pop Warner team. I think RR could adjust his offense for a 6' 7" 320 lb QB with no discernable running or throwing skills.

Does anyone know why Threet transfered to Michigan. Was it a depth chart issue or did he just want to be closer to home , or what?

Threet graduated from HS early and erolled a semester early (like mallett) - GaTech had some coaching changes, and they liked another qb josh nesbit i believe more than threet - so threet transfered to mich. Now GaTech has a completely different staff from chan the man gailey.

In three years, when Michigan has adopted the RichRod offense, Terrelle will see that he shyed away from the immediate playing time for the comfortability of being groomed. RichRod will decimate the guy. And there's a kid out there who will be just as special on offense for us, Michigan always finds someone in the stable. This is one time where playing it safe, meaning picking the established program will HURT this recruit long term. You'll see why soon enough

You guys are really showing all the WVU fans how to get over their coach bolting for UM. If TP were going to UM the same people dogging him would be saying "he is the greatest, we will kick OSU's ass now!" hahaha. But I am sure RR will do just fine at UM. Just move on already, and enough with the University of Ohio State jokes, the kid was nervous as hell!
