Gravatar Booyah!

Gravatar SECOND!

Gravatar what about the nj lb's or wilson, anyone have info on them?

Gravatar just come pryor, just come. on a side note, this only adds to tOSU-UofM mutual hatred.

Gravatar Can't wait for the schizo minority among us who will say "Pryor isn't a Michigan Man" "we dont need him anyways" and "if that's how its going to be, than we're better off without him" if he does decide to go to OSU.

I'm intrigued by this Robinson kid. Actually, I'm just intrigued by all these speedy dynamos(terrible phrase. Im sorry) that seem to be gravitating towards us since RichRod got here. Mix in the typical Big Ten muscle we'll always land with a more lethal injection of speed, and we're looking good.

Gravatar Witherspoon basically said that Tennessee and Michigan are even now. He said his visit to Tennessee was a "10."

Fitzgerald visited MSU this weekend. I haven't heard how that went.

Christian Wilson visited UNC. I read what he said about it, and it doesn't seem like he was all that impressed. His main concern with Michigan is how he's going to be used, but that kind of confuses me because he could be Michigan's Owen Schmitt, but with as much talent as he has, he would probably be used even more than Schmitt. Anyway, I think he'll end up at Michigan.

Gravatar When I saw MOTS, I thought it meant Man On The Street. That really had me confused for a minute.

Gravatar Losing Fitzgerald and Witherspoon would be massive. I hope we end up landing (retaining?) both of them.

Gravatar Yeah, considering our current crop of LB's, I'm sort of afraid of both Fitzgerald and Witherspoon going elsewhere.

Gravatar And ROJO was a lock for Michigan. He looked good in an SC uni this year. "Insiders" right.

Gravatar Ohio St insiders are usually pretty accurate....I mean, they already deposited the money into his bank account didn't they?

I am sure they tell him about Troy Smith taking money AND winning the Heisman.

Gravatar Is it weird that I'm just as excited about some 2-3 star recruits RR just unearthed as I am about Pryor? Granted, Pryor's the obvious talent but I've got these strange Pat White-esque visions floating around in my head...

Gravatar Michigan unearthed some solid low-recruited guys the past few years. Englemon was a signing-day, 2-star after thought. Mike Hart wasn't a superstar...

Gravatar Seeing and hearing the energy and intensity that RR and his staff have right now isn't it SO clear that Michigan has overdue for a "Bo-esque" infusion of new blood?

Gravatar Honestly, regardless of whomever lpays QB next year, the offense doesn't really concern me. Rich Rod will find a way to put up points and move the ball, keep the defense off balance, etc. We'll be a fast, dynamic team that the Big 10 is just not used to facing. I am more concerned about the defensive side of things. Couple a solid defense with his dynamic offense and we'll be unstoppable.

Gravatar maybe gsimmons can comment on this, but will RR's presence scare off potential WR recruits? In a spread offense, are WR really used other than decoys, particularly if you have a mobile QB and are playing the spread-option?

Gravatar i bet we get Fitzgerald. He seems very firm on his commitment. Witherspoon and Wilson are the only commitments at this point that we are running a potentially high risk of losing, particularly Witherspoon. Wilson just seems confused, in general. He is by far rated higher on the defensive side of the ball than as Fback but he only wants to play offense. And even with that said, RR could definitely use Wilson in his offense a la Shmitt.

If we lose anyone at this point, my guess would be only Witherspoon.

Gravatar Pretty interesting post here, the only thing that made it stand out to me was the schools mentioned, as they are all in my hometown played football at The Woodlands HS way back in the day. It's a bit strange to have Klein Oak and 10-2 in the same sentence though... they were horrible when I went to TWHS.

Gravatar Anon..

FWIW, I again think it all goes back to Pat White and the talent WVU was bringin in. White's arm wasn't exatcly condusive to throwing the ball to receivers, and WVU probably wasn't able to draw a very talented WR class. Michigan will be a different story.

Gravatar I'd be happy to get Pryor, but am more enthusied by the speed we seem to be adding.

With all the Pryor hype, don't forget the Clausen/Mallett hype of a year ago. Both have raw talent but proved to be very rough and immature. Don't expect Pryor to lead either the Buckeyes or Wolverines to the Big 10 title next season.

I'd be just as happy to get a couple versitle QBs that can run the show but aren't expected to solve world hunger. I actually think Threet will play a big role this fall and do just fine.

Gravatar Screw Pryor, I'd rather have a pocket QB run the spread the way Henne did in the Capital One Bowl

Gravatar Anon,
I am hoping and guessing that the enormous talent that RR will now be able to stock his team with will allow him to further evolve his offensive scheme (and he has been evolving his offense since he was at Glanville) to utilize a better passer and WRS and TEs. Perhaps in 2-3 years we'll see an even more diverse, potent, and unstoppable offense than anything he'd been able to create at his previous schools.

Think about what Dennis Dixon and Oregon did to us with their ability to torch us deep to their WRs, QB draw us to death, then run us over with their bulldozer RBs.
THAT is the future of Michigan.

Gravatar The Pat Whites' we recruit now will be 4 & 5*s. Give the system some time and you gotta imagine that we will be a force, not only in the Big Ten but also the entire country. RR will singlehandedly erase the image of the Big Ten as a slow and weak conference.

Gravatar Dang it. I came here trying to find out how to cure my sciatica. But nooooo. Some birthday. I would think the wr's we attract are the smallish, 6'0, 185lb guys, who run 4.4ish 40's, instead of the 6'4 215 possession types.

Gravatar I'll take whatever works. I'm willing to be surprised. 100% running, 100% passing, or any combo in between is fine with me as long as points go on the board. That's all that matters.

Gravatar WR's will be marginalized if they don't have much talent, and you don't have a QB capable of getting the ball very well. WVU's teams the past few years have stuck to that model. They had one skilled receiver (Reynaud) who they hit on lots of bubble screens and long-handoffs - he caught nearly half their passes. Prior to Pat White, they had one thoroughbred WR (Chris Henry) who, again, was virtually their only target in the passing game for 2 seasons. It seems like their lack of passing was neccesitated by only having 1 receiver at a time, and not having particularly good-throwing QB's.

Gravatar about wr recruits....

that is a concern of mine as well... its not so much what the spread does. (as we all know you can be a passing spread or a running spread, or any combo of the two) but rather the perception that the spread isnt for big wr's like michigan usually gets.

i think if nothing else, coaches are using negative recruiting to tell recruits that the spread doesnt utilize big recievers well. Untill RR either tells the recruits something different, or espically when he shows them something different on saturdays' there will be aprehension on the part of some WR recruits... imo

just out of curiosity though, i mean bassed on system, who would have thought that michigan would have brought in so many great wr under lloyd, when the perception was that michigan was a running team?

Gravatar Damn, do I hope we stomp tOSU this year. My wife's "friends" from columbus keep emailing me, screaming about getting to the MNC in a "rebuilding year". Apparently they consider every year a rebuilding year.

Gravatar What's the deal with this AJ Price kid? He's got a 1* ranking on Scout, and runs a 4.5 40... big deal. Is there any reason to be excited about this kid, or will he fade to dark once he chooses where he wants to play?

Gravatar For perspective, 2007 stats*:
UM Rushing - 540 plays, 2144 yds, 3.97 avg
WV Rushing - 628 plays, 3864 yds, 6.15 avg
UM Passing - 423 plays, 2862 yds, 6.77 avg
WV Passing - 265 plays, 2067 yds, 7.80 avg

I agree with the commentors above. Playcalling and run/pass distribution will be personnel based. If UM continues to get great receivers, I'm sure they'll get their fair share of touches. Long term, I would expect rushing attempts to be somewhere between the 56% that UM ran and the 70% that WVU ran.

* All rushing includes sack yardage.

Gravatar Gsimmons85,

Regarding the perception of RR's spread not being able to utilize big pro-style receivers, the good news is that with Mathews, Hemingway, Clemons, and Savoy as our top 4 returning receivers, there will be a chance for that perception to be put to rest quickly. Having them in place already and being forced to utilize them from the beginning sure beats having to try to recruit them and convince them they can fit in this style of offense.

Gravatar magnus - thanks for the info on those three, sure hope they stay

Gravatar re: Pryor

The Bucknuts people are totally convinced Pryor is headed their way. One reason they have for optimism is their incoming O-line class, which is very highly rated. Those guys have apparently been recruiting Pryor for a long time. One of the more reliable Bucknuts posters says Pryor has told the O-lineman that him going to OSU is pretty much a done deal.

I'm putting this out not to be pessimistic, but to lessen the likely sting of Pryor committing to OSU.

Gravatar Not that anyone cares but:

Mallett to ARK

http://inthebleachers.net/bcs-co...is-razors-edge/

Good fit for him - I hope he does well there.

Gravatar Nacho - one star means the kid hasn't been ranked yet, not that he's bad. two star is the lowest ranking given.

Re Fitz/Spoon/Wilson - they're all getting in-homes this week so maybe that will help. i agree re: wilson - one would think RR's system would be gold for him. fitz and spoon might show us how good a recruiter RR is. we need LBs desperately. shouldn't be such a tough sell.

Gravatar This link actually works

http://inthebleachers.net/catego...onferences/sec/

Gravatar Dang it. I came here trying to find out how to cure my sciatica. But nooooo. Some birthday. I would think the wr's we attract are the smallish, 6'0, 185lb guys, who run 4.4ish 40's, instead of the 6'4 215 possession types.

Gravatar It's my hope that RR gets "stuck" with Threet and has to deal with a drop-back passer for a few years. He really needs that to get rid of the image that Michigan is no longer a destination for QBs and WRs with their eye on the NFL.

This has nothing to do with yards RR's schemes have in passing or running. . .it has to do with transferrable skills.

Gravatar Thanks ish... so do the websites re-rate any time soon? I would asume they do it once more before signing day, but who knows? He has a 1* now (unrated), but is thee any indication where he will end up?

Gravatar He really needs that to get rid of the image that Michigan is no longer a destination for QBs and WRs with their eye on the NFL.

An image that has been cultivated over 5 weeks and 0 games?

Gravatar I'd imagine that if he were a major talent, someone would have gotten off their ass to scout him, and get him a ranking, no?

Gravatar That's what I'm thinking... he has offers from UM and PSU..

Gravatar Why is everyone so concerned with putting receivers and quarterbacks in the NFL? RR's system has won WVU two more BCS Bowl games than UM's has over the past 3 years. Should we just be happy that Michigan has had a lot more players drafted during that same period of time? I don't think RR's system and NFL development are mutually exclusive. And I really don't understand why anyone wouldn't want one of the top 3 HS players in the country to play for UM.

Gravatar MRG - because some people aren't happy unless they have something to complain about.

Gravatar remember that 'TP should go to OSU' article in one of the Det papers? here's an explanation:

http://varsityblue.blogspot.com/

i think he was asked to write that article b/c of the valenti rant on 97.1 the other day concerning the original 'RM transfer opens door for TP' article. valenti went on & on about the pro-UM media bias in Det.

Gravatar chitown, I dont think thats true. I enjoy watching Michigan players on Sunday. It was nice watching Amani Toomer yesterday.

Gravatar Dang it. I came here trying to find out how to cure my sciatica. But nooooo. Some birthday. I would think the wr's we attract are the smallish, 6'0, 185lb guys, who run 4.4ish 40's, instead of the 6'4 215 possession types.

Gravatar @ MRG

I'm with you. I don't care if U of M never sends another QB or WR to the NFL, so long as they start beating OSU again...I don't mean to oversimplify the concern some have that U of M will start losing talent at those positions - I'm sure we all just want Michigan to win more games...That said, I'd happily have Michigan take two BCS wins from WVU from the last few years in exchange for them having their receivers drafted a la Braylon Edwards or Jason Avant.

Gravatar SOrry. I am on my phone. and sometimes when i refresh, it re posts. all apologies.

Gravatar The Darius Reynaud comparison for Terrance Robinson seems accurate, IMO. Reynaud was a tremendous weapon for WVU during his time there...arguably the most consistent WR they had, he also was great running reverses (scoring TD's on that play in the 2006 Sugar and 2008 Fiesta Bowls) and he was a stud as a return man, too. RichRod should be all over the guy.

RE: Pryor...does the playing surface have any bearing on what choice he might make? OSU's surface isn't quite as shitty as Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, but I'd hate to have to live on the difference between the two. UM's field turf is still pretty new and does a great job of making fast guys REALLY fast.

Gravatar mrg,

for me any way, its not complaining, as much as it is just worried about michigan football the way i know it. I imagine it would have been just as difficult for fans of the old veer michigan teams, when the new pro offense came in. Its just about change. No matter how much we win, untill it becomes a michigan tradition, it will seem weird.

Gravatar osu has field turf now

Gravatar @mgobleu "Is it weird that I'm just as excited about some 2-3 star recruits RR just unearthed as I am about Pryor? Granted, Pryor's the obvious talent but I've got these strange Pat White-esque visions floating around in my head..."

I thought the same thing!

P.S. How to you put something in italics?

Gravatar \osu has field turf now//

Sneaky bastards.

Gravatar insert test

except use

osu put the FT in right after the debacle that was UM-OSU 06

Gravatar same here Blue23...even though, yes, that image has been cultivated over 5 weeks and 0 games. Plus I'd be really crappy for a hometown kid like Threet to transfer here and not get a whiff of starting at least for one full year with all of that supposed talent. I hope Threet starts, but RR hasn't given any real consideration to that (keeps mentioning he needs to recruit more QBs which is expected, but the ones we're targeting are all running QBs).

Gravatar So, is Manningham gone?

That's what we've heard in all of the rumors/reports but if so, why hasn't he announced yet?

And is Taylor staying?

Gravatar sorry, except use the greater than/less than as brackets.

taylor seems to be staying, MM seems to be going. DWar is sticking it out thru spring practice, then probably staying. according to S Webb.

Gravatar the other thing that worries me just a bit, and i am speaking as a fan not as a michigan coach, so i expect to be critized, is the new imagine of the coaches. There seems to be this loyalty and admiration for RR as opposed to the university. I know some of them are saying the right thing, as far as this is michigan everyone wants to coach at michigan. but there seems to be alot of ...this is how we do things, this is what makes ME comfortable, not a whole lot of, WE are michigan, we are going into the next generation, and just adding a bit to the legacy. I was hoping to hear more about how, "its humbling to be here, amoung all this traditon" instead of the we are cleaning house, "who was this Fritz guy?" do we have to keep this stupid "those who stay will be champions" sign? "hey this jungle poem is gay!" maybe im way off, and i hope so.... next spring, i just want to see michigan come out of that tunnel against utah, slap that sign, and kick someones ass, not reinvent the wheel..

Gravatar I am simply going to assume we are losing Witherspoon. He hasn't said anything positive about Michigan since Rodriguez was hired and his Tennessee visit was a big hit. Jonas Mouton for Bednarik, baby!

Gravatar @ gsimmons: I totally understand that. Some people prefer rum raisin ice cream, others prefer butter pecan (I'm not sure who's spread option and who's pro-style in this analogy). I just find it odd that UM fans (not you) would wish that RR would have to work with lesser talent in order to prove something about his ability to turn out NFL prospects. It's not just here that I've seen this sentiment, but other places as well.

Gravatar MRG - what do you mean RR would have to work with lesser talent?

Gravatar someone said they'd rather not get TP, so threet would be the guy, and then RR can show how the NFL-mold QBs can still flourish at M.

Gravatar Hard to argue with the comment about OSU's offensive line recruits tempting Pryor. That's a stellar class. They've got some $y$tem in place there.

I like RR's ability to turn 2-stars in to superstars. But I DON'T wanna rely on it. Not if OSU is landing five-star talent. Screw that.

Gravatar what i meant to say in that last post, is that my opinion in this matter has nothing to do with me being a football coach, but rather my feelings as a life long mihigan fan. Which means that i am not claiming to have any rational basis for my thoughts at all..

Gravatar @ Chief Nacho

If you saw video of AJ Price, you would be excited about him, too. Unfortunately, I don't think he's coming to Michigan.

His highlight video is full of him making leaping catches, catching the ball one-handed, and running past much slower defenses.

Keep in mind that a 4.5 as a high schooler is pretty darn good. All these reports of kids running 4.3 and 4.4 are usually exaggerated. The fastest players in the NFL run around a 4.3, and that's after years of top-notch training and maturation.

Gravatar Commentor above (and others) hope that Pryor commits to OSU so that it forces Threet into the starting role and proves to NFL scouts and future QB/WR prospects that RR can groom NFL players. I like Steve Threet as much as the next guy, but Pryor is considered by many as a once every five years recruit that is tailor made for RR's prefered system.

Gravatar For the record, I'm reaaaaally getting tired of the '(sniff) we won't send as many QBs and WRs to the NFL anymore!' meme. WTF does it matter?

Really, people. First, there's no evidence to suggest that you're right about that- WVU never was (and never will be) a recruiting magnet for NFL prospects. Second, and more importantly, Michigan should be about winning games (honestly, of course), not about getting players hired by the NFL.

Get over the fact that Michigan sends lots of guys to the NFL- it's nice, but it's not necessary to winning games and championships. Instead of tearing up about the NFL, start facing the reality that we're not beating OSU, we're not winning the Big 10, we're not winning our bowl games, and we're not "in the hunt" for a national title in October.

These are things that need to be worked on, and these are things that the NFL pedigree may not affect. If it becomes clear that winning more games and champs requires sacrificing the NFL farm system, then I would expect everyone to STFU, stop wringing their hands, and just support the needed change.

Gravatar Um, I'd take Pryor over Threet. Is that even an argument?

Our #1 rival is going against us for the #1 QB recruit. Seriously, what else is there to talk about? You're cool with Threet?! What?!?!

Screw OSU. We gotta get Pryor up for an official. And fast.

Gravatar There was a small article on AJ Price in today's print edition of the Washington Post that I can't find on its website. He had never played football before this year, concentrating on basketball. His mom convinced him to give football a try. So that is probably why he hasn't been scouted. Here is a link to a youtube highlight reel from his first 7 games of football. He is number 2.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m...h?v=mfPx0dp01- w

Gravatar I'm the sorry, the #1 recruit. Period. Possibly the best singular talent in years. No way in hell do I accept OSU getting him.

Gravatar Here's the deal...nobody is sad a bout not sending QBs to the NFL...find me someone who actually said that and meant it literally (besides Blue23 because I think his opinion might have been exaggerated by many of you). Nobody is saying that here. However, I do think it is important that RR is diverse in the way he handles his talent. That IS to UMs advantage, any way you slice it.

My thing about Threet is, wasn't Mallett/Clausen two of the most once and a lifetime QB recruits too? I'm just not hung up on Pryor other than the fact that I don't want OSU to get him. I don't think he's THAT special...pardon me. So yeah, I would prefer a more accurate passer, I would always prefer that. I like my QBs to be passers, not runners...just my opinion. It has nothing to do with the NFL.

Gravatar @ Atom: Pryor's coming the weekend of 2/2-2/3. I choose not to believe he's an OMG Bukeyezzzz lock!!!one!! until that visit is either cancelled or completed, no matter how many Buck insiders say otherwise.

Does anybody know if Fred Jackson is visiting him today?

Gravatar Not to mention, it wasn't our talent that wasn't getting us to title games and beating OSU, it was our use of talent. There was nothing wrong with a strong-armed QB or outstanding wideouts...nothing at all. Our use of these tools with unimaginative playcalling, questionable strength and conditioning, etc, THAT was our downfall. Not the talent itself. If anything, it was our talent that kept us in games. So why fix it if it's not broken. I bet RR, with his system, would've given UM an MNC last season (this past season, not so, b/c of injuries). Because the spread is so versitile, I just don't think it's completely necessary to go and get 2-star running QBs just because they "fit". If RR proves he can adapt his offense at a high level (not just Tulane), UM would be at the upmost advantage in talent and versatility.

Gravatar Getting Pryor isn't the icing on the cake.
Pryor IS the cake.

Gravatar Sweet news.

Gravatar @ kgh10: There's also nothing wrong with a mobile QB and smaller, shiftier receivers. Just a different way to win a football game, a way that's served RR well. Again, I don't begrudge your preference. My ultimate hope is that he can mold a player like TP into an average to above average collegiate passer to provide a greater variety of skills from the QB position.

Gravatar So it seems that if we could only recruit one player this year, most of us would chose Pryor to be that one player.
For those who disagree, who would yours be? McGuffie? BooBoo? Martin?

Gravatar Darrell Scott apparently doesn't suck. But I'd take Pryor. It's the absolute perfect fit with the new system.

Gravatar Cheif - that'd be easier if we only could recruit one player...but we can recruit more than one. I can't answer that unrealistic of a hypothetical question lol. Pryor is an easy choice b/c only one QB really plays, so if you had to choose one you'd choose the guy that isn't a part of a tandem. With BooBoo or a safety, I'd want them in packages because that's how they play on the field (two at a time). So I'd want Brandon Smith and Will Hill or somethin. Sorry if that made no sense.

MRG - Same here, but unless it's Pryor or even Marquis Grey, I wouldn't take many "dual-threat" QBs over most of the high-ranking pro-style QBs. I would say TP or bust, because if it's not Pryor, I'd take Threet over anybody given his measurables and reputation of accuracy and smarts/decision making.

Gravatar I was born in Ann Arbor but grew up in North Houston and graduated from Klein Oak. Had to watch a couple games this year to see this DeSean Hales kid and both times walked away VERY impressed Robinson more than Hales. I thought about him when we hired RRod but just never really thought he would move so far north. It's obviously an upgrade from Wake Forest though.

Gravatar @kgh10: I agree with your last point. None of the uncommitted mobile QBs strike me as a better option than Threet, outside of the obvious Pyror. So yes, in terms of my inconsequential desire to see RR's rushing based zone read option implemented next year, I would think it's TP or bust. If no TP, then I welcome Threet as the starter.

Gravatar some of that is new s and c coach rhetoric. just like some of you were complaing about the new dc saying what all new dc's say.

just been a long time, if ever, for some of you to hear a s and c coach talk i would imagine...

Gravatar sorry i posted that in the wrong thread

Gravatar I am very excited about the new direction/old school feel of said direction that the RR coaching staff projects. It seems very REAL. Getting T Pryor would be great, as well as, keeping the NJ recruits we have/had. Two things to keep in mind:

1. RR and staff have not been able to contact these young recruits much, if at all, bc of the dead period. Once they talk to these intense motivated coaches, we should be okay, even if we lose one or two of them.

2. Win. Score. (BEAT OSU, win ChampionshipS!)

Gravatar I beg to ask the question of why no one is whispered or even talked about Nick Perry. I feel confident we are getting his John Hancock, but for setting Michigan's single season sack record, he's generated no buzz?

Gravatar Chief-

I'd say Cissoko, because our pass defense has been weak the last few years. Even though we've had some great ones, it seems we never have enough, given all the good receivers around, and we desperately need corners.

According to my Ga. Tech. friends, Threet was a big loss to the Jackets and we thought enough of him to give him a scholarship even with Mallett as the "heir apparent" to Henne, so I presume that he can play QB.

I will be happy if Pryor comes to the U.M. I don't think he will be a make or break recruit for us.

Gravatar @gsimmons
I agree somewhat with your take on the coaches' apparent loyalty to RR rather than to UM. (I'm glad RR has stopped calling us "Michigan University" - what they call it in Charleston.) Even though Bo was an "outsider" when he took over, he was still a Woody protege', and the Big Ten and THE Game were already in his blood.
However, read the Tony Dews quotes from his interview, how he had stopped here one time while driving through, and that he hopes he doesn't cry the first time they run out of the tunnel. Haven't heard anything like that out of the other coaches, but I gotta believe that you (RR) don't leave the place where you grew up, went to school, played, coached, lived, unless the opportunity is a once in a lifetime gig. They might not all "get it" yet, but I think they will.
I think RR's making the rounds at the bball and hockey games (so far) shows his desire to become part of the fabric, not just an accessory.

Gravatar No more excuses. Got to get back to the weight room. Barwis will find my ass and end my life. This dude is pure ninja energy.

Gravatar Taylor Hill, come on down, it seems like.

Gravatar can someone dub over the Clip of Barwis with the audio from Rocky. the one where he fights the russian and the russian says " I Vill Break You"

Gravatar It's not a running quarterback we fear, it's the lack of big receivers. Big talented receivers won't come unless we have a QB with a great arm. Smurf ball won't fly at UofM. It's like Keith Jackson said, "football is a simple game, big fast guys beat little fast guys". I've heard many posters and others say it, "don't try to fix what isn't broken RRod." You guys saw what we did on New Year's day with a little motivation and imagination. Just take that imagination part to a little higher level RRod and we will compete for it all more often than not.

Gravatar You know I just had a scary thought. Barwis with a bucket of kittens..
-cringe-

Gravatar TP will come to Michigan.....I dont understand all of the concern. He is a near lock to start in an offense tailored to his skills, already surrounded by the skill position players necessary to excel, and would be an absolute lock to start and likely be a marquee player for the bball program. TP is likely a bright young man who just enjoys the spotlight. Let him enjoy the next few weeks, he will make a sound decision for himself, and that is to come to Michigan if he ultimately wants to shine and profit at the next level.......

Gravatar To the poster that says Ohio State fans must think every year is a rebuilding year, has been in fact true the past two years. I swear I'm not on here to flame as I enjoy coming to this site to see what the enemy is up to. :) In all seriousness, two years ago our defense was very young so all we had was offense. Then this year, our defense was experienced, but we were breaking in a lot of new offense. The good news is, a few juniors have decided to come back next year. Gholston is definitely gone and Lauranitis may go as well. All others are staying, But to me, that's not even it. Right now I'm jealous of the Michigan program because of your exciting new coaching changes. I wouldn't trade Tressel in for anything, but I have some reservations about our coordinators. At least with Rodriquez, you guys were finally able to kick DeBord and English to the curb. Michigan and OSU have superior talent, but I have to wonder how quickly Rodriquez' staff is able to develop them and start running the new style of offense. I honestly would be willing to take a Michigan beating for the next couple years if it means a coaching change or two.

Gravatar Get lost
