Did you purchase your surplus Bunker of Denial(tm) from Iraq's former Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf?

I was wondering when you were going to get to some baseball. All 8 fielding positions are batting over .300, and Putnam is about as OMG Shirtless as M baseball has had in a while.
NCAA Football will be as stupid, but I'll still shell out $40-$50 and still have as much ridiculous fun as before winning multiple national titles with Baylor or Eastern or New Mexico State or some other crappy football school.

Slightly confused as to how the baseball season "ends in March" as we are halfway through April and you're writing about their upcoming games...The College World Series runs well into June. Whatevz

ahhhh...the improbable loss at kinnick. a classic! YMRMFSLA:
the loss to OU when AP literally wasn't tackled for 1.5 qtrs. and it's not cause i possessed the ball alot.
the loss at EL when (o-fer) Stanton complete 85% of his passes and the MSU Oline turns into 5 little Bull Dozers for 3 qtrs.
the loss at PSU when they throw the ball 90% of the time. the 2nd string QB completes 85% of his passes, and the other 10% of the playcalls is him scrambling rightward on any play I blitz them...for a gain of 6-8. keep contain, LDE #94, keep contain!!!!!!
iirc, the NCAA has been discussing moving the baseball schedule ~ 1 month back, with a firm start date. RM has been the catalyst , again, iirc.

maybe I just skimmed too fast, but isn't the worst part of the 2008 game that Jared Zabransky is the cover-athlete?

I'm ok with Zabransky on the cover. It it were Troy Smith, I'd have to go Drew Stanton on that cover.

Maybe I've just got a problem with putting a guy who isn't even the best player on a mid-major on the cover. But maybe the creators held off on Smith b/c of his less-than-steller finish and the fact that they want to save their Big 10 cover QB for Chad Henne in '09

So, everyone sucks vs. Iowa? I thought it was only me, and it happens every time I play them

Ha! I think the game is rigged. I had the awful situation occur with me against Iowa as well. Drew Tate completed something like 90% of his passes and also ran for 100+ for something like 500 yards of total offense. Fucking EA...gotta love the home field advantage.

Last year I was like 3-4 years in, and Iowa's 70ish speed QB took a draw 80 yards untouched to win it with like 30 seconds left.

Does EA Sports NCAAF still have the Michigan/Visitor sidelines backwards and the teams entering the field from nonexistent corner tunnels?

I long ago decided I hated that game when I realized that it was basically me rolling a twenty sided dice. Catch a pass between 3 defenders? My +4 Super Sticky Gloves must have paid off. Drop a 5 yard wide open out pass? Oops! You rolled a 1! All I'm asking for is realism and cause-and-effect. How many passes, on average, are dropped per game and by what caliber athlete? Realistic pass completion percentages, gains per rush (remember all that charting I did? took like 40 minutes to do Mike Hart's entire season...you're telling me EA is too lazy to do the same themselves?), etc.
And I can't play Madden either because the league bores me to death. I re-upped my pledge this year to never watch the Super Bowl unless the Bears are playing. I think I should probably just extend that to all of them.

"scurrying into our Bunker of Denial so that no one can proffer the obvious and terribly effective response"
gotcha!
obligatory 42-39, 25-21, 37-21 response.
Also don't forget you haven't beaten OSU in either of the 2 sports that count in over 3 years.
That said, congrats on the sweep. M's had the Bucks' number on the diamond the last two years.

So the Iowa game isn't just me? That's so hilarious, but when I run fake fullback/toss every single damn play (literally) against New Mexico State with Brandon Minor who finishes with almost 650 yds without playing the 4th quarter, I realize the game is not based on reality.

If you read Peter King's piece in SI, not only will you read about Branch falling, but Dwayne Jarrett can't even crack a 4.6 40 at the combine.... which only serves to makes Michigan look even slower.

Having worked at EA as a tester, a tester on the NCAA franchise, I completely agree with you. NCAA went to shit after the 04 release. The passing and running were issues addressed by Quality assurance, and not fixed. I have NCAA 07, and it's completely unplayable to me.

rolling dice....that's funny. i find it more frustrating when the entire team of 70-ish level players roll +22 every down.

I gave up on the EA releases a while ago. I still play the version w/ Carson Palmer on the cover - and I don't even use the real teams. I created my own team with exaggerated versions of all my friends (replete with my brother as a fat placekicker). That's provided me with a lot more fun.
How is Hart in the game? I would imagine that what he does can not be quantified adequately using their categories.
