I never minded Quinn that much and always thought he was pretty tough. He was overrated, but he stuck it out for his 1st two years where he got destroyed and in those 2 bowl games he got lit up and took it pretty well. The picture of him getting trucked by Crable, and Crable just staring at him on the ground is classic. But he was tough.
I'm feeling a lot better about the spring game after watching the first half of OSU's (torrent at buckeyeplanet). Ugly INTs, dropped passes galore. Boeckman is our best friend. How did we not put like 12 in the box to stop Beanie and win that game?

The Pens have played great, but like Dallas, they haven't seen anything like our defense. They're playing against a team minus Coburn and Timonen. Our FOURTH defenseman is better than those guys. Pens are definitely the next-best contenders, but I like Detroit's chances against that young team.

Hasek is not the type of goalie who thrives with Detroits style of play. He plays best when he gets 40-45 shots a game. But when Detroit on average gives up 15-20 shots a game he straight sucks. That just happens to work in Osgoods favor (less shots = less chances to score).
This is not the Wings team I am use to seeing in the Playoffs (they used to be prone to playing against the hottest goalie in the playoffs and averaging approx .9 goals a game.

My concerns about the RR hire:
1) He's an angry coach who coaches to avoid mistakes "you won't hear from me until you screw up." I hate this style. It causes athletes to tense up in big moments. It becomes a head game. Coaches like Pete Carroll make it fun. I'm worried RR doesn't know how to let his guys have fun. Jocks need to play loose. Avoid the head games at all costs. Getting caught up in head games are the reason why stud athletes like Magnus are no longer playing, rather claiming they've dated women hotter than Kim Kardashian.
2) He lost the most important game in his alma mater's history before asking for the UM job. I find that troublesome.
3) His first move as head coach at UM was soliciting the services of a prep who opted for our hated rival.
4) Rather than just paying the fucking buyout he is showing the rest of the country, including intelligent recruits, that he cares more about the $$$'s than the tradition of being a head coach at U of M (which, IMO, is the best job in the country).
I try not to be superstitious. I want to believe omens are the product of Hollywood and the media. That being said (for Barking Sphincter), it's easier for me to see ESPN.com spinning a failure story out of the aforementioned shit versus a winning story.

I hope all y'all have gone and contributed to the charities on EDSBS to take money away from the Buckeyes. Michigan and OSU are running #1 & #2 in the donations, well ahead of #3 Florida.

Charity battle going on at EDSBS and Fanblogs.com. UofM kicking ass, but OSU closely trailing. I think that the Mgoblog crew can put it out of reach if we all donated a few bucks.
All the trolls around here call us rich arrogant assholes. Lets show how rich we are so we can be arrogant assholes about it. Plus, EDSBS and Fanblogs will be Maize and Blue colored on Thursday.
I just heard back from Fanblogs that my donation is counted. You can lower that Buckeye total by $100.

Like most of my fellow UM alums, I care about college football. Period. We get together for football games and little else.
If we could actually win a few basketball games without cheating, I would care about basketball. Hockey is tolerable when we aren't losing to State or choking in the tournament, so not recently. Perhaps I was spoiled by my time in AA...
College baseball? Blah... I'd rather watch women's volleyball and check out the college babes in tight shorts. The only baseball worth watching here is the Red Sox.
