To that random dude in my Faulkner class who apparently worked for Fanhouse last summer and reads this blog:
hey.

I was just in Weidenbach Hall (basically the UM athletic admin building) and in their conference room, there was a meeting going on and a slide of Crisler's concourse was up on their screen. One of the pictures was a Big House renovation-like cross-sectional sketch.
Good to know they're working on improving something for Beilein.

brian, you should ask any of those dudes on the WV scout board if they have any tape of Beileins Mountaineers. i just think that would be hilarious. untill they give you death threats for posting on a WV board as an M fan. then that might not be so hilarious.
how can T Foster work at a 0% clip? i mean a monkey could choose the correct side of a coin flip 50% of the time.

Off-topic, but: the nugget in Mgolicious about MSC receiving an honorary degree from ND caused me to spew Diet Pepsi everywhere. Where can I send the cleaning bill?

I had been thinking of that picture for the past week in the event that we got their coach. I was hoping you'd Photoshop it though.

Follow the link to a place that compiles them. It is a wondrous thing.

Doesn't the MSC getting an ND degree story tie in with the E3W story about her trying to catch a leprechaun?

Finally someone realizes what an idiot Grady's dad is. Fed up with reading Eric Lacy's quotes from him in the Det News. Outlandish is the perfect description for a guy who is banned from the East Grand Rapids campus except to watch his kid compete because he was renting homes to "transfers" from the City League (otherwise known as recruiting). Got ejected from a EGR game this winter for yelling at the officials. He's a well-known loudmouth egotist to anyone from the GR area. It's a miracle his kids have turned out so well. Good mom, I'm guessing. And the stories about his coaching football at local schools before he decided to move his kids to EGR are about the same. Ignore most of what this man says and enjoy his kids.

Do you think he's a bit peeved that Brandon Minor passed up Crisco-Hands on the depth chart?

Don't sleep on grady's game either. He had a decent offer sheet with MSU, Illinois, Purdue, Michigan, and Xavier offering him rides. Of those teams, you guessed it, Michigan was the only one to miss the Tourney.
Grady had a pretty good year at EGR which culminated in a loss to DCD (Legion's old school). He can play, so don't be too quick to lock him in as "not being able to find minutes elsewhere." I think that'd be a mistake.
Likely this is all hot air being vented in a particularly crappy manney, but hot air none the less. Michigan didn't end up with some unproven coach or a coach the department knows nothing about this time. Beilein has a lot of the qualities that made Amaker an attractive coach except with a 29 year coaching history of winning. I think he'll be able to convince these kids to stay.
But honestly, at this point, I've got grady as the biggest flight risk.

A good coach can win without the immediate upgrade in talent (read: Billy Gillespie at A&M).
Do we have an Acie Law in our midst? Probably not, but Ekpe Udoh and Deshawn Sims are not slouches.

"Recruit Alex Legion said he asked around about Beilein's offense at the Roundball Classic in Chicago this morning. Legion said he was encouraged by what he heard. But he said he still wants to meet the coach — eventually — and make a decision personally, not based on what he’s told by others."
