The problem with creating random icons on the beginning of each post is that the RSS feed gets refreshed for all posts. Well, at least Bloglines thinks that

oh, hmmm...
When we implement content caching then it won't be a problem (because the source of each entry hasn't changed, the cached version will be used instead of being regenerated).
I'm not sure if there is a way round this - the time on the RSS feed should remain unchanged even if the content changes marginally.

Hmmm.. (again) Firedrop strips HTML from the RSS feeds, so they shouldn't be changed in Firedrop.

Didn't you forget the parenthesis at the last line of your macro, when you call the function ?
