This can get tiresome quickly:
if b:
a = 3
else:
a = 6
so people embraced
a = b and 3 or 6
which is dangerous
so
a = 3 if b else 6
is quite a progress in that regards because it's as unreadable as the and/or solution, just a whole lot more safe. And it sure is a whole lot more readable then
a = b ? 3 : 6

I didn't know about pysqlite appearing in the stdlib. That's a good addition indeed!
Don't forget that setuptools is also slated for inclusion in the stdlib. That's a biggie as well, imho.

pysqlite might not make the first alpha, but will be in the second alpha.

pysqlite will be a great addition! If only we could grow Python's syntax and keywords like in Smalltalk -- now, that would be something!
