I usually have a multi-boot environment, with Linux and XP. On XP with explore2fs (http://www.chrysocome.net/explore2fs) I can access my Linux partitions. On Linux, I can see my XP data easily (right-click and mount hdan).

With Vmware going free, if you have enough RAM, you can load Linux from XP. And with Linux, you can use Vmware or Xen (http://www.xensource.com/, http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/Research...SRG/netos/xen/) to load another Linux from Linux. The Xen team have successfully loaded XP from Linux, but stopped because of legal problems
