When I did these tests omitting the call (by mistake)...

The results were :

IronPython
Old Stle: 0.203125
New Stle: 0.484375

Python
Old Stle: 0.25
New Stle: 0.15700006485

New style wins for CPython... When you add a call old style wins by a bit...
