> True division switched on (use \ for integer division)
Go away, you Windows *scum*! ;-P
> I also feel a lot better equipped to use and distribute eggs
You couldn't really bring yourself to say "I feel equipped to make eggs", but don't worry, that's totally understandable. ;-D

Did Jim say whether Microsoft will be issuing coupons that will allow the continued use of C-Python and of the C-Python based Pyrobotics package that was the origin of the stuff in Microsoft Robotics Studio?

Seagate does use some Python internally, but other languages are used more - I know there's a lot of Java, and a fair amount of MS stuff (some .NET).
I'm not so impressed with the MS Robotics Studio (but then I have industrial automation experience). If there's going to be standardization, something way higher level than .NET is needed. I suspect LabView (also available for the Lego Mindstorm) is a better choice than .NET.
I don't think MS understands industrial robotics. The Japanese already have industrial robot standards (Orin, etc), so some of what MS is saying is hot air.
For the hobby robots, well, I'm not sure standardization is needed (learning is a major part of the experience, and .NET is too big for affordable autonomous robots). Maybe the MSRS would be useful trying to build "helper" robots, but I doubt the leaders there (e.g. Honda's Asimo, Roomba) are going to use it.
Finally, the true robotics experts feel useful robots (not toys) are about 10 years away, for example, see this article http://www.elecdesign.com/Articl...4763/

Nicola - why is there always an extra full-stop at the end of your comments ? It looks like an artifact from some obsolete Linux email client... B-p
