I'm totally in love with the dream of Parrot, which is that one day we'll be able to run Perl, Python and Ruby all on the same Open Source VM and call code modules from different languages, just like you can call C# code from IronPython. I have no idea how plausible that is though.

Well - both .NET and the JVM already have multiple languages on a single VM. I haven't heard about a Perl implementation though...
