Hi Michael,
your pathutils Lock.lock(...) method appears to contain a couple of bugs. Here is your source:
if os.apth.isdir(name):
raise os.error
else:
os.mkdir()
os.apth is mistyped os.path and os.mkdir() must be passed the dir's name
