For internet shopping and reviews I like Amazon and Newegg. The US sites are worth checking even if you're in the UK for the user reviews. I also typically check eBay (e.g. I got a Quadro FX2000 CAD card with passive cooling for about $120).
For routers, I like my Buffalo WHR-HP-G54; it's about the same price as the Linksys WRT-54GL, can also run custom Linux versions (DD-WRT, etc), but has MIMO for extended range.
