Some other areas where Python is used I can come up with:

Science:

- The folks at the German space and aviation research institute (Deutsches Luft- und Raumfahrtzentrum, DLR) uses Python where they can. Not on board of spacecraft ,though By money spent on software development they are the biggest software house in Germany.

Web:
- The BEA WebLogic Java application server uses Jython as the scripting language for all adminstrative and monitoring tasks (WebLogic Scripting Tool, WLST).

Games:
- Battlefield 2 is scripted with Python
