Whot! You haven't written a compiler!

You must at least have written your own interpreter then?

It seems that you've listened to the 'wise ones' (or is that wisened ones), telling you to not waste your time unless your willing to give it your all.

No, never written an interpreter or compiler (I don't have a CS degree).

I would love to though and there are several options (for the future) to reduce the effort needed and make it a practical task:

* Write a langauge using the DLR (framework for writing interpreted languages on .NET)
* Write a small compiler for a .NET language (you get garbage collection and the JIT for free)
* Hack on PyPy

All of those sound appealing.

I've kinda vowed only to work on things that are actually useful for a while though - so I really need a compelling use case before I'll tackle this.

I really like the idea of tinypy though, I wonder if I can find a use for it and a reason to start hacking on it...
