amanda - it's just one interpretation. I think the comic book style suits many a song.
Those of you who are true bobcats and tragic hipsters will recognise it as the inside front and back jacket of Greil Marcus' book on Like a Rolling Stone. Well up to his usual standard and very much like his Invisible Republic: Bob Dylan's Basement Tapes.
Easy, rich, sensible (mostly) and rewarding reading.

Got it this arvo Frankie. Just the prologue down at this stage, but my early feelin' is that the song is better than the book.

Yes Chris but then Marcus doesn't seem to claim otherwise implicitly or explicitly. Skip to the bit at the end about how the song was captured in the recording section. Breathtaking. Bottling wild mercury. It won't spoil the book.

High drama. This Dangakawa (I htink that's his name) bloke put up his fourth stooge (a man who could use a knife with both hands!) in a final attempt to topple Michiba. He signed a very big piece of paper saying he would challenge Michiba himself if his lacky failed. Apparently Michiba rules the west of Japanese cuisine, and Dangakawa the east.
Kaga said that Dangakawa was a slippery customer, so tonight's secret ingredient --- EEL!!!!!!
Eel Battle. Lots of deep fried eel, eel stew, eel and caviar. And surprise surprise Michiba wins!
I like the way that in the intro if a challenger wins, they will win the people's acclaim forever. I timed forever at about 14 seconds before the credits rolled last time it happened.

wow. phew.
I could watch them cooking eel, but things like mushies I don't like so they bore me.
I'm hoping fathers day might get me a full set of Iron Chef DVDs and book PLUS steak knives. ( oh and I'd like a few of Kaga's old shirts. cool as.)

As per usual, the eels weren't quite dead as they were being gutted and fried.
