Is schtupping an aide's lady or going into alcohol rehab really the type of thing that kills a political career these days? I get the feeling that if his political career ends prematurely, it won't be solely on the basis of the affair.
i don't think it's the schtupping, or the drinking -- it's the douchery. That is, sleeping with e.g. an intern is par for the course, but sleeping with your buddy's wife -- that's a dick move. Also, when the buddy is a high-up aide, it's bad management.
