Gravatar Oh...my.

That is truly the most disturbing thing I've seen this...year. I think. If God exists, he's one evil son of a bitch.

Gravatar Why do people always try to blame God for inherited imperfections? I can understand how difficult it is to see so many tragedies around us, but he is perfect. Man's own sinful actions have lead to a host of defects and let's not talk about what man has done to the once beautiful Earth. God gave us each free will..people choose to abuse it and spit in his face then get mad when they reap what they've sown. God is not causing any of this he is simply ALLOWING it until the time comes when he'll rid the earth of all badness once and for all. There's a big difference. Quit blaming God for man's idiocy. He made the first human pair directly..from then on they reproduced their own offspring. He does not individually create every living thing every day. He makes no mistakes. Don't take my word for it. Just keep living and I guarantee you all of your questions will be answered sooner than you and I may think.

Gravatar Yes, Neekie, I'm going to HELLLLLLLL! OOHHHHHH.

Try actually learning some human biology before opening your mouth.

Better yet, try learning a better moral sense than believing in a god so vindictive to hold the eating of a pomegranate by two people against all humanity to the point of your God himself letting teratomas, etc. happen.

No, God is in the dock and found guilty.

But, there is no god, so, really, the idea of God that you hold is in the dock and found guilty.

You, in turn, are found guilty of moral obtuseness.

Gravatar What a surprise! An inane and simple-minded response, I didn't see that one coming. -_-... I said what I had to say and I meant it. It's going to happen whether you like it, believe it, want it to or not. Trying to reason with you is futile. So how about we go on with our lives and let prophecy unfold..k? Wait a minute..was I supposed to be offended? Ooops..

Gravatar Inane and simple-minded? Look in the mirror under your first comment.

Gravatar Should I hand the mirror to you when I'm done?

Gravatar I can't believe the first comment...what an idiot!....A mindless fool at that. Neekie you are right and i highly applaud you for your comment. OMG.....what a sarcastic bamboozle!!!! U just ruined my day and that of many others!....We'd pray for you.....SERIOUSLY!!!!

Gravatar Ohhh, I "ruined your day."

Well, sounds like you have a pretty fragile belief system then.

Maybe it's the "Intelligent Designer" who ruined your day.

Gravatar Here's some thoughts on this story.you bring up some really thought provoking ideas . It appears like the thought is if God is real then he is to blame for this and then how could he truly be Love.A very disturbing picture,But our world is full of so much suffering. This is one example.I only have to look in my own heart and see I dont have a heart of pure love goodness, etc.mankind is riddled with problems. but arent people just the most wonderful, awesome creations. I can only say from my own experiences God does love humanatity ...he loves us.. and sent Jesus to set us free. I didnt know real pure love till I met God. he said I didnt come to condemn us that through him we would be saved. Ok sorry maybe Im preachy for you. the little girl i dont think that God does cruel things but we do have a broken world...so feel free to slice and dice as you will .

Gravatar Nice try but wrong, Karen. God could have created you with a heart of pure lovein the first place. If he couldn't, he's not all powerful. If he wouldn't, he's not all goodness. That's the problem of evil in a nutshell.

Gravatar Read The Case for Faith and The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel where an atheist reporter puts Christianity on trial. I think you'll be surprised.

Gravatar Already read it, Mel. Thin soup.

Gravatar Not gonna bash anyones beliefs here if you choose not to believe in God that's your choice. But as someone who believes in God I can tell you that God has given us free will we make choices and those choices have consequences, we like in an evil world and if God hadn't punished Adam and Eve for their sin they wouldn't have needed to believe what they did was wrong and if he just changed them which he could and made them follow his commandments an eliminated their sin they would have followed him out of fear.

As for the picture it is sad and if you want an explantion for it well find the scientific one which explains how the twin grew inside it's sibling as a mass of cells if you want a spiritual explaination we live in an imperfect world and as a result of sin these things do occasionally happen.

Before anyone says I'm stupid or silly to believe just think if I'm wrong and I live a life believing that God created me and this world and is coming back to save me and I'm wrong what have I lost...I just wont wake up again after I die. But if I'm right and you're wrong what do you stand to loose.

Gravatar Ahh, but who created that imperfect world, Annie? And, please, spare me that one "sin" caused "original sin" to make the whole world imperfect.

I just heard your petard cranking up.

Gravatar Actually God created a perfect world the devil brought sin into it, and by falling into the devils trap sin was introduced into the world. If you're gonna ask how did the devil became sinful....I can't answer that but why does that matter, we won't ever understand everything anyway.

Isn't the idea of a world with a purpose and a grand design better than the idea of one that is just doomed to continue its evil existence until it is just no more? Isn't a little hope better than none? After all the world is full of religions all of which have God or gods and I know you said to spare you that argument but if the world started off with two individuals who committed the 'original sin' then it wouldn't be hard for it to spread they were the only ones here.

One question, why are you so opposed to the idea of there being a God?

Gravatar And, who created the devil? You're just cranking your own petard higher?

Another crank: Why are you so opposed to the idea of there NOT being a gOd? You're the one who keeps coming back here.

Gravatar God created Lucifer who was perfect and became ungrateful with his position and declared himself to be just like God. How did a perfect being become sinful who knows I don't think it's that important.

As for me being here I was on Google images searching identical twins and the picture with this article came up and I asked to be notified of any responses that’s why I'm back besides I don't talk or debate with any atheists so this is fun.

I am also not opposed to there not being a God but like I said If I live a life believing in a loving God who is preparing a place for me to go to when this world ends and nothing happens I'll already be dead I haven't lost anything, besides being a Christian makes me happy so if there isn't a God it won't change anything I would have lived a life hopefully beneficial to society and I would be at peace.

Noticed you never answered my question as to why you're so opposed to the idea of there being a God.

Gravatar Annie: I DID answer your question with my question back. I otherwise don't think I'm any more opposed to a god than you are opposed to a not-god.

As for devil/Lucifer, Google "the problem of evil." I'll tell you, the bible itself has several answers (unless you're an evangelical Christian who puts it all in a blender). Who made him in a way that he could be ungrateful? If he was perfect, what was there to be ungrateful about?

Sure it's important, unless you want to believe in an illogical, or even capricious god.

As for my "opposition," if you can conceive of a critter that passes the appropriate muster, fine. But, you haven't. And, if there's a "god" who is either less than all-powerful or less than all-good, is that a creature to "worship" anyway?

The "former prophets"? God tells Israel to go do a Holocaust on the Amalekites. So, God says, I'm writing history and that makes it OK.

Job? God says STFU. And Job grovels. Acceptable in a pre-scientific age, but not today.

Ecclesiastes? Says "shit happens."

Second Isaiah? God creates darkness and light, good and evil.

Gravatar Liked your answer and the fact that you could point out the parts of scripture that cause even many christians to question how a God so good could order things that seem so cruel and why the prophets we look up too did and said things that we wouldn't say were good. I guess that is why religion is mostly based in faith. You just have faith that the God you believe in is making the the right decisions and if you could see everything just like He can you would make the same decisions.

As for Job God was testing him proving to the devil that Job wasn't faithful just because he was blessed.

Solomon was the wisest man to ever live. And if you compare Ecclesiastes with his other book it is more depression it talks about nothing changing everything being the same, everthing having a season and how everyone lives and everyone dies, which is a simple truth.

God may have created the darkness and the light, but John says God is light and in Him there is no darkness, so you can find an escape from the evil and darkness around you if you choose too. Of course I don't believe that following Christ should be done blindly and that if you're going to make a decision on whether or not you believe in God you ought to do your research and it appears you have.

God is all powerfull and is all good, but if the smartest people on the planet don't understand everything that is to be understood here then I don't expect to fully understand God. And eventhough there are examples of negatives done in the Bible there is also a world of good.

Gravatar Uhh, Solomon didn't write Ecclesiastes. It was written by an unknown Jew about 650-700 years after Solomon purportedly lived.

Job? Yahweh wasn't "testing" him, he was playing a capricious betting game with the Satan (who was NOT Lucifer, aka, an evil beast) in the book. Job as victim was simply the object of the bet.

Sorry, but if you can't have an understanding of the bible that's been informed by modern critical scholarship, nor try to understand more about "the problem of evil," this discussion is probably at an end.

Gravatar God did this, God did that!! Wake up Children, God created two humans,"Adam & Eve", and that was that. But after that, they were on their own. And that is how you & I were created, by Eve's children, children, children and so on and so on....and they are called "Mom & Dad". "Its called Birth defect". And they are Special children. I have a grandson who was born with an extra pinky toe. (youtube: new born baby quidachay) I do not blame God for that. Everyone is just born different.

Gravatar OK, I'm not convinced the pic is real.

Gravatar Well, John, it is real. Deal with it.

Beling, the point isn't "different." It's that an omnipotent, omnibenevolent God could have created people who aren't **handicapped,** yet are still different in personalities.
