Gal:
Nice analysis.....the real confrontation between the US and Iran has been brewing for a long time, but it may now be moving to the "front burner."

Thanks for this. Throughout the war I have gotten my news from conservatives sites, bloggers, and official government sources rather than the TV news. It has made the struggle against the terrorists murderers of 9/11 bearable and at times encouraging.
I also think that success in Iraq is the worse thing that could happen to Iran, even a full-scale bombing campaign which would play into the victimization mindset of the Arab world.

Hi,
Excellent portrayal of a future US President. Let's hope he will be.

Nice ar3ticle, thansk!
I agree about the "next act" and hope that Iraq can start governing/protecting themselves and we can move on.
Iran is a big issue, and I hope that the Dems see that.

You don't really disquise your contempt for Bush, the republicans and, in some aspects, the American people. I am sure you will be reassured when Mr. Obama takes the reins of power, submits and retreats from the middle east, fulfills his dreams of weakening our military so that it can only be a "soft" power, and "deals" (and I do mean "deals") with Iran in a way that will make you feel safe and secure. My family (military and veterans of WWII) would not recognize the military you foresee, nor what this country has become (and we are from Massachusetts!).

Oh, and the Pelosi trip....my understanding that her last foray as our REAL PRESIDENT, i.e., to Syria, was a complete disaster for some of the citizens of Syria. When Ms. Pelosi assured Assad that the dems were on assad's side, he felt free to murder and imprison his own citizens, while making great strides taking lebanon back. I can't wait to see the result of your heroine's exciting trip to Iraq.

Great article! Thanks Galrahn!
I've tried to stay away from anything but news from various agencies like AP, etc. I am thankful for blog sites such as this and the LWJ site for no-frills reporting.
I find the neocon online mags and blogs to be too full of "bluster" and finger pointing. The MSM papers and TV a waste of paper, print and electricity!
Syria doesn't need the acceptance of US Democrats--or anyone else--to behave as a rogue state. Syria has been doing that for years! (If anything they take their orders from Iran.)
I'm sure that Libya and Iraq came as a shock to them. Let's hope that they "see the light" and try to make peace with Israel rather than follow UBL's or the Iranian's advice.
Thanks again Galrahn!

The comments from Judith and Aurora show why I pray to God that the liberal hacks and conservative hacks one day take up guns and just start killing each other in this country in a civil war. It's not like anyone would miss them once they're gone.
