I'm having a hard time imagining a basis for a complaint about Overstock advertising. The ads I see don't have a lot of quantifiable claims about being faster or cheaper or whatever that could potentially mislead. Is there some formula the Marin DA has been following that would provide some insight into their thinking?
You don't need to induce hallucinations to come up with a conspiracy theory here.
The Marin DAs offices has a history of violation state and federal criminal statutes, specifically USC Title 18 section 242. The investigation of Patrick Byrne is probably just another example of some well connected people in Marin leaning on the Marin DA to prosecute good people and protect the DAs criminal friends.
