This seems to be the internet version of that Donald Trump show (whatever that thing was called). Instead of "you're fired", it's "you're hired". It's funny, yet perfectly predictable.
Here's the kind of guys OSTK goes for:

Note the author was Bagley (in a rare spyware-free message from that id) and was recommended by Evren. (The other two recos from long-lost OSTK supporters, anti NSS activists. Wonder where they went?) Luckily, they remind us often that they are "good guys", lest we forget.
Also, regarding that press release, wasn't that just a blatant price manipulation attempt? Buy the stock Friday and it will skyrocket? Anyone else read it like that?

Gary,
This Karpak development raises an obvious question. When will one or all of the Three Stooges be hired by OSTK? My guess is, if they aren't already paid under the table in some fashion, that they will ultimately see some pecuniary benefits from their assistance via perjured affidavits. You never know. The next time you call Overstock customer service, maybe you will hear, "Hello, my name is Dimitrios, how may I help you?"

Gary,
I strongly suspect the individual who defended Byrne's voucher plan is Patrick himself.
Despite the "before he went nuts" comment, the person you quoted used 3 key phrases:
1. "Patrick." I believe when he writes about himself, he uses "Patrick," not "Byrne."
2. "Jihad against Wall Street." That's Patrick's own term for it.
3. "Sullying." That's a Patrick term, he's used it before.
4. "I agree that the way he runs the company is awful...however..." Another bait-and-switch. Why would a guy write something negative about himself? It accentuates the positive. He did the same thing when posting as "Padawan Cowboy" elsewhere.
Just FWIW.

I spent a few minutes looking into BioTech Medics' claims, and amusingly, the short interest percentage checks out -- their short interest rose to 9,405 shares in September from a previous month's tally of 2. As in two shares. Even now, the "ballooned" short interest in BTME is valued at all of $132, probably less than what it cost them to write and distribute the PR in the first place.
