Gravatar Whoa Chris, Sean Kelly wasn't locked up for nothing. He killed 9 Protestants, 1 co-bomber and several innocent fish. BU.

Gravatar He was released under the GFA and was interned by Hain for no reason.

Gravatar The great thing about the DUP predicament is: we don't even have to provide the nails. Just stand back and watch the show, as they hammer themselves into their coffin. Saves us having to do it

Gravatar He wasn't "interned", Chris: he was a convicted murderer.

Gravatar Kelly was returned to serve the sentence he should always have served for breaking the conditions of his release - using the mechanism negotiated by Martin McGuinness - you should complain to him

Gravatar How did he break the conditions of his release MR?

Trinity

Agree 100%

Gravatar You know as well as I do
We have been over this before!

One of these days Sinn Féin will realise that if they want to be taken seriously as a political party they will have to stop repeating untruths in the hope that if they keep saying them people will accept that they are true. Kelly was not interned - he was returned to serve his sentence under the mechanism agreed by negotiation with Martin McGuinness and his team.

Gravatar p.s. I see the Belfast Telegraph is covering it's backside having reported on unwise and untrue comments made by Gerry Adams

Gravatar Its been a long time "M-R"

Gravatar For Reg Empry to suggest that the IRA has suffered a "Military Defeat" is truly laughable.

The IRA VOLUNTEERED to give up it's wepons in exchange for many concessions by the British Govt., which the IRA has been humiliating for 30 years.

Obviously Mr. Empry, and his fellow loyalist cowards, are aware of just how badly the IRA has beaten them and their British Army allies during the past 30 years, and the best they can do is to make false claims of "Military defeat".

The IRA waged war so effectively that the British Army and their UDA/UVF proxies were left with no alternative but to agree to IRA and Sinn Fein demands. Anyone with half a brain knows that the IRA won the war...while the British Army and Loyalist pukes were soundly defeated and humiliated.

PS. The UUp needs to accept that they got their asses handed to them by Sinn Fein, and that they are now a second rate political party. Irish America, and Sinn fein will ensure that they stay that way.

Gravatar As a proud former US Marine, I know about soldiers..and I know about those who are "Wanna-Be's"

Colonel Tim Collins, of the laughably pathetic RIR is in the category of "Wanna-be"

This loser was run out of Iraq for cowardice and incompetence, and now he has been reduced to making speeches for second rate political cowards like the UUP. The RIR always was and always will be a bunch of racist cowards, who got their asses handed to them by the Superior warriors of the IRA. Collins is a puke and a coward who needs to hang his head in shame and retire into obscurity.

Gravatar Collins view of the Holy Cross hate fest and the understanding that his men had connections with the UDA and UVF men present illustrates that he was perfectly at home in a regiment long famed for it's bigotry.

Gravatar Devin - any chance of a comment on the Pro-PLO and Pro-Cuba policies of Sinn Féin ot have you not heard of this organisation and place ?

Were you one of the US Marines that ran like scalded cats in Grenada from some kids throwing stones ?

Gravatar Devin

The Provisional IRA failed to achieve any of its aims and then ended its terrorist campaign.

That's a defeat in anyone's books.

Gravatar Why has this blog failed to mention the intimidation by the Provisional movement of the last McCartney out of Short Strand?

Gravatar chris any comments on the racist remarks by andrew mc cann over on a tangled web regarding the easter 1916 commemerations?

Gravatar Col. Collins left Iraq with his head held high as did the RIR.
By the way Dev, the RIR 1st Bat. has rarely been near Northern Ireland, get your facts straight.
"Superior warriors"...what are you on about. They killed mainly civillians.

Gravatar 'Why has this blog failed to mention the intimidation by the Provisional movement of the last McCartney out of Short Strand?'

Maybe because the blog has no evidence that any such intimidation took place and that the person you allude to is merely following in the footsteps of her siblings who had already left the area years ago.

Gravatar Or, more likely, because the blog doesn't want to draw attention to the nasty, violent and ugly nature of Provisional nationalism.

Gravatar What is all this 'provisional nationalism' nonsense??

Gravatar 'Or, more likely, because the blog doesn't want to draw attention to the nasty, violent and ugly nature of Provisional nationalism.'

There now you got it mentioned and I provided just enough controvery to garner a response, happy all round.
