Adams is an excellent writer. I've read a number of his books and he used to write a column for Village Magazine which was always an interesting read.
Definitely one to keep an eye on...

I have to confess I have never read any of Gerry's books as my passion for reading does not involve political books normally.
That said I have heard him speak on countless occasions and if he writes as well as he speaks it could be promising.
I've read most of his books the best ones are the ones made up of short stories like the street and cage 11

'Léargas' means visibility, clearness or order; not so sure that is suitable for gerry. Had a look at his blog and it's a bit low key but maybe that will change when he gets going right.

The "One Tory, One Bullet Scandal occurred at the 2005 Union of Students in Ireland (USI) Congress.
At the time the President of USI was a fella called Ben Archibald, a former QUB Student and member of the British Tory party.
I was there as a rep from Queen's and Steph was there with her UCD compatriots.
A member of the UCD delegation left many unhappy, more than a few with a quiet snigger, when he raised a "One Tory, One Bullet" placard during congress to show his disapproval at poor old Ben.
The entire UCD Delegation then invaded the stage during Ben's speech with a "Another Society is possible through Socialism" banner.
What many do not realise is that one of the headbangers from the Queen's delegation went slightly further, not wanting to be outshone by our Dublin comrades, when he held aloft a "One Tory, One bomb, Remember Brighton" placard.
It's all fun and games until you put a few hundred hardned student drinkers in the one hotel in County Clare lol.

SDLP COUNCILLORS SLUR ON STAFF TOTALLY UNWARRANTWED
As reported in local media outlets,including the Newry Reporter at the recent monthly Council meeting whilst debating n issue relating to Council services, SDLP Councillor John Feehan, who has just returned from a pre Christmas Council visit to Russia, stated that Council workers got overtime at festivals to “sit on their backsides”. This is a totally unwarranted and unjustified attack on the commitment and indeed integrity of Council staff and I would call on Councillor Feehan to publicly withdraw his slur. During the latest festival, where I and many other low paid Council staff were working, the Halloween Festival, the only ones that we saw sitting on their backsides were those including Councillor Feehan, who were availing of the free food and drink in the hospitality lounge in the Arts Centre. This unjustified attack on Newry and Mourne Council workers by a Councillor has to be challenged by all right thinking people. Councillor Feehan must apologise and withdraw his slur
