That's pretty much common in Germany these days.
Family values? We can't have that!
Women who decide against career and have children instead? EVIL! EVIL WITCHES!
Anyone who says something in favor of family values? NAZIS! NAZIS! NAZIS!
I wonder if the left can think, because... who will pay all their ridiculous project if not the people? And if there are no children, nobody will pay taxes.
Actually, the more I think over it, the more I come to the conclusion that a true leftist should actually support family values. More kids means more future tax payers, which means more people to lie to and to milk.
If everyone would abort then in ~30 years there wouldn't be any leftists left!

Anyone notice who is quoted as an 'expert' on the GOP Class of 1994. It's washed up former Democratic Congresswoman Patricia Schroeder. The reason Schroeder is so bitter is Newt and co. ended her gang's 40-year rule of the U.S. House of Representatives. Also not mentioned Schroeder retired in 1997 because she couldn't stand being in the minority there

Andreas,
You too smart for your own good.
Over forty-million babies (future tax-payers) aborted in the United States since the 70's.
Now the democrats are scurrying around looking for tax revenue.
They would like to tax the very air we breathe!
Who do the leftists think will pay for their craptacular projects?

For 8 years we had the state-run media telling us just "how bad" the economy was, with unemployment low, the leftists complaining that markets were growing at a paltry 1% last year... how are things looking now, Jeffy?
$2 trillion deficit for 2009 and growing, unemployment at 10%, and axis of evil calling our bluff daily.
No 9-11 to deal with, no Katrina, and uh, Obama was going to end the war and use all the money to build infrastructure. You know, important stuff like bridges for turtles. The truth is, he's spending trillions, we're losing millions of jobs, a racist is going to the Supreme Court, and more jobs are about to be lost because of Cap Our Trade. Did I mention that his healthcare plan will allow me to keep paying for my own insurance (as long as I pay for yours, too)?
Laugh it up, libs, I am in the tax business and get to tell morons like you the bad news every day...yes, your social security is taxable-just thank Dick Gephardt. Go ahead and sell your home for a loss today, tomorrow you'll have to install energy compliant windows and an electric car plug tomorrow FOR AN EVEN BIGGER LOSS.

The good thing about it all is that the libs run will end in about 6 more months when the entire House has to start re-election campaigning. And I sure hope the RNC will remind everyone how the libs damaged our country. Every vote needs to be plastered on the media. For every lie that they make that they did not support the liberal, hate America agenda, I hope that there is a counter attack showing that they walked lock-step with BO harming the middle class. Yes, it is the middle class that is taking the worse hit by this WH.

So what libtards are saying is that if you don't stand for any values, you cannot be held to any,
Kind of like it was okay for Bill Clinton, to cheat on his wife, numerous times, and it was okay to lie about it on national tv and before grand juries, because Clinton never said doing so was wrong.
Then there is Jesse Jackson having a bastard child, while married.
Did I mention Jesse Jackson hire Mel Reynolds after Reynolds was released from Prison on child sex convictions.
Then there is John Edwards whose wife is stricken with cancer. Johnny Sperm-seed hasn't even acknowledged his own child!!!!!
Shall I continue libtads?
Not living up to values that you espouse is much better than not living up to any standards.
Libs have no standards.

I read through that poison and bile this morning, Crystal. Jeffrey's a saint compared to those wastes of flesh. He's just a liberal--misguided and wrong in his views, but not evil. I think he's the sort of person I could sit down and have a beer and we'd get along so long as we kept politics out of the discussion. Those people on that thread were evil, pure and simple.
The simple truth though is that the media in this country is an all but official arm of the Democratic Party and the Obama administration. When I have to get my domestic news from here and foreign sources because I can't trust even US News and World Report, then we have a major problem with our media. A press that is critical of all in government--regardless of political party--is vital to the maintenance of a free society--and we no longer have that.

Libs sometimes claim that Limbaugh is a hypocrite on account of his divorces because he purportedly presents himself as the voice of family values--which of course he does not. He never suggests that his own private life is exemplary. Leftists don't seem to understand the difference between a discussion of government policy and a discussion of private behavior.
Nor do they notice how most conservatives have not circled the wagons around Mark Sanford--far from it.
OTOH, it is disturbing when conservatives who do talk publicly about personal morality still give a platform to Newt Gingrich as a conservative spokesman and promote his book wherein he offers "principles for a successful life"--one of which is (quite strikingly) "be true to YOURSELF." Which I guess could require betraying someone else.
I've heard prominent conservatives say we shouldn't be hard on Newt because now HE is happy. (No thought for the wives he dumped to get younger women.) A lot of men who identify as conservatives do not understand why Newt's posturing about having NOW found God sounds so cynical and self-serving to any self-respecting woman.

It's the Cynthia McKinney thread.
Jeffrey, there's no doubt we differ on a lot things--and there are probably a lot things that were we to talk, we'd find that we agree on. But, even though we have our differences, my impression of you based on your comments is that you're an honorable man--we just have different political views--you think I'm a right wing wingnut, and I think you're a left wing moonbat--fine--let's go grab a beer and talk sports or fishing. I believe that you want good schools for your children, safe streets, a prosperous economy--it's just that we differ on how to achieve those goals.
But the people on that thread last night--the hatred and bile they poured forth. Yeah, I get a little angry at times--we all do--and I'll let off a caustic remark now and again, but as I said, the people flooding that thread should make someone like you turn your head in disgust at their bile. And, it's not all left-wing anti-semitism. There's some Paulites and Buchananites in there and some genuine Nazis and neo-Nazis. It was disgusting.

A bit of topic, but here's an Independence Day reading list for anyone interested. I encourage those on the Left to read some of these selections--you might learn something...
1. John Locke's Second Treatise of Government: http://www.constitution.org/jl/2...jl/
2ndtreat.htm
Although it's all good stuff, pay especial attention to chapters 7 through 13, 15, and 17-19.
2. The Declaration of Independence: http://www.ushistory.org/Declara...ument/
index.htm
3. The US Constitution: http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html
4. The Federalist Papers: http://www.foundingfathers.info/...deralistpapers/
Just pick whichever ones you want--they're all good.
If anyone else has any additional selections--feel free to chime in!

The Turkish prime minister Erdogan said several years ago that, what the Turkish troops failed to achieve during both sieges of Vienna (where we Austrians dug in and the Germans and Polish came and whacked the crap out of the Turks) they will achieve with their women.
And our wonderful welfare states help them with that little plan. Our government are digging our own grave.
But apparently people want it that way. Ok.

Matt Helm,
I missed the Cynthia McKinney thread, as I was watching a movie with my wife (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) but I did look over a few of the thousand or so comments. Not sure I caught the whole flavor of the episode though.
We can agree on beer, sports and fishing though. Blogs (conservative and liberal) seem to attract a higher percentage of radical blowhards than exists in the general population. Hence, the viciousness and name-calling. There seems to no longer exist nuanced differences in opinion along a continuum but only the extremes of far right and far left. With us of agin us! Hutus and Tutsis.
Your comment that we all want the same thing is a good one, and it would be useful if we each repeated it daily.
