Gravatar Ritter worked for the Denver office of Hogan & Hartson in 2005, leaving the following year when he ran for governor. The law firm has about 1,300 lawyers across the country and specializes in public finance, real estate, white-collar litigation and environmental and governmental regulation...

A little Cap-N-Tax action coming his way soon as well.
And my stepdad just got laid off.
He voted for Obama.
He's not talking as much shit to me these days.

Gravatar These people are just slimy.

Gravatar Lying and corruption among Obama's cronies? Say it ain't so!

From the More Proof We're Living in an Orwellian Nightmare Department:

A few weeks ago, the Obama Administration officially abandoned the President's "Sunlight before Signing" campaign pledge that the White House would post all legislation passed by Congress for at least five days before the President would sign it. In making this announcement, the Administration maintained that it would comply with the spirit, if not the letter, of the original commitment by posting legislation on the White House site once it became clear legislation would eventually pass and make it to the President's desk. This new commitment, they suggested, would actually provide even greater sunlight, as some bills would be available for review earlier and for a longer time.

Well, this promise is no longer operative either, as the Cato Institute's Jim Harper details. Since the White House announced its new sunlight policy, nine additional pieces of legislation have been signed into law by the President and yet, as of yesterday, not one had been posted on the White House web site.

http://volokh.com/archives/ archi...html#1247319762

"More sunlight" means less transparency. "More openness" means more secrecy.

"Honesty" means deception. "Truth" means lies.

Gravatar Ritter hired his former law firm, the Washington-based Hogan & Hartson, in a no-bid contract to review stimulus spending, The Denver Post reported Friday. It said the firm was paid $40,000 in stimulus money through June.

I guess obama can use this example to boost his 'jobs saved' stats.?

Gravatar I'd be more upset by this if I weren't so completely wigged out right now about Obama's new Science czar.

Go to HotAir.com and look up this blog entry (title in green): "If You Like Putting Sterilants in Our Water and Forcing “Undesirables” to Have Abortions, Have We Got a Science Czar for You"

READ IT.

Gravatar Mary Beth | 07.11.09 - 10:01 pm |

I read that earlier. Shades of Dr. Mengele.

Gravatar I checked out that they didn't mention that the gov. was a democrat. So I clicked on a link under the article to see if they were consistent for republicans...
http://cbs4denver.com/politics/ M....2.1075830.html
They didn't leave the republican part out on this one. Its kind of funny that the republican running for gov used a picture of the Canadian Rockies in his add with a quote in front of it asking. "What do you want for Colorado's future?" Well, if they vote for the democrat they will get the socialist part of Canada. Kind of fitting huh?

Bones, what's wrong with turning absolute control of your uterus over to the government? Isn't that what liberal women have been advocating for all these years? Letting the government determine who can and can't breed and how many children they're allowed to have?

NOW will be right on this guy. Any second. At any moment NOW will speak up. Just be patient. NOW and Planned Parenthood. Speaking right out, at any second.

Gravatar How many Csars does this guy have. Someone needs to bring suit to stop his move to solidify power by appointing Csars that are accountable to no one but him. Highly doubt this is any where near constitutional, not elected by anyone nor confirmed or vetted by the Senate. this is a very scary time or this country.

Nein!

Gravatar $40,000 to a large law firm? Doesn't sound suspicious. That's a pretty small contract and given the size of the law firm the chances they'd get the contract is pretty good.

Sarah Palin had her house built by the same firm that built the Wasilla sports complex. Maybe a case of corruption, but also maybe just a case of them being the best option.

Gravatar Or yet another fabrication that parrots like Bruce are repeating.

Gravatar Hey, Bruce, probably the part that you didn't get was that they were given the job without bids. That is the problem. And $40,000 may not seem like a lot, but how many hours have they performed for that $40,000?

I worked in law firms for almost 20 years. I worked for an attorney that charged almost $700 per hour for the work that he did. However, he was worth the $700. He didn't waste his clients money.

Besides, why is a law reviewing stimulus spending? Seems to me that you should have an accounting firm which knows the ins and outs of financing and would be better able to serve.

And that house/Wasilla sports complex is a ridiculous accusation. What does Palin have to do with this conversation? And how do you know that the firm didn't win both contracts because they were more efficient?

Gravatar Pat,

That's what I call "A Shut-Down".

Gravatar Bruce, you'd better threaten to beat up Pat.

Gravatar hee hee

Gravatar Pat would sooooo kick his ass, Kracka.

Gravatar Something about this clip makes me think of Bruce:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B...h? v=Bkt1vAX0MRM

Couldn't say what, though.

Gravatar He was terrified.

Gravatar Monkey, you have a pure heart that makes me ashamed of my nastiness.

You're right, it was the fear expressed in the video that made me think of Bruce.

Absolutely. That's what I meant.

Gravatar Don't get wrong, Kracka.
I laughed.
I laughed my ass off!

Gravatar And that house/Wasilla sports complex is a ridiculous accusation. What does Palin have to do with this conversation? And how do you know that the firm didn't win both contracts because they were more efficient?

Bruce must be getting orders stating that the "Blame Bush" cries are getting old so switch to Palin.

Gravatar Patrick,
I know how we can cash in on this administration.
Let's print up t-shirts that say
"BUSH'S FAULT!"

We will make trillions!
Especially if we go global!

Patrick Chester | 07.12.09 - 1:44 am |

They're horrified that she resigned. She was supposed to be there for another three years. They're panicking big time. The Alinsky playbook won't work anymore.

With Bruce, though, it's personal. He hates the ladies, apparently. When I offered to go to St. Louis and play with him, he became strangely silent.

He's quite brave when it comes to threatening women. Men? Not so much.

Gravatar LOL!

I see our resident 0bamaparrot Brucie has stopped by to drop his steaming pantload of the same old tired shite that is the Corruptocrats "talking points".

BTW Brucie, you better wipe off that foam around your beak. Your rabid PDS is showing. Tis OK, though...your ravings are a fine illustration of just how much you and your ilk fear Sarah Palin.

Gravatar Tom W: Hopefully, she'll imitate this guy's fighting style:

(Okay, so I'm just making a lame excuse to throw in an anime clip for the heck of it.)

Gravatar there will be much more of that to the point of maybe just tracking which payments actually go to something of value will be easy. the poverty industry is alive and well. got an empty storefront to rent - somebody with a grant and client service contract will be more than happy to move in..... win/win

Gravatar Patrick, this is what I would prefer:

Gravatar ...looks like the maintenance is complete.

Ow.

Gravatar To: 19%ers (White, rural, right-wing fringe idiots from "real" America)

From: 58%ers (Smart, educated, urban and urbane REAL Americans who are effectively working to create a more civilized, European-style world.)

Ha Ha Ha! You hear us? He He He Hee Hee Hooooo....

We love it! We love that you guys have your underwear in a bunch, that you are brimming with anger, that you can barely see because of your apoplexy. We will enjoy it for the next eight years. Oh the world is changing, and it is sweet. Universal health care is on the way, and nothing you can do will stop it. You will spend the next 50 years trying to dismantle it to no avail, just like you've been trying to dismantle Social Security since the 1930s. The energy bill will change the planet and the US for the better, and there's nothing you can do about it. You hear us? NOTHING!!!!

HA HA HA HA HA!!!

We love it that you love Sarah Palin. Please please please nominate her for President in 2012. Nothing will ensure another four years of progress than that. Oh sure, at some point, another Republican will get elected (2020?). No majority lasts forever (Mr. Rove). But that person will not be able to undo the progress that the Obama administration will have set in stone. Social Security and Civil Rights are now a fait accompli, and though idiots still try to attack them at the fringes, they aren't going anywhere. The same will happen with all the Obama programs. Your greatest fears are being realized: a new world order is at hand!

And by the way, your numbers will keep dwindling. You are 19% of the population right now, but demographics are not on your side. Soon, white people will be a minority. Our increasingly numerous Black and Hispanic brethren and our growing urban centers will ensure your voices will continue to be marginalized until some day in the not-so-distant future they will be extinguished, just as backward, reactionary, pseudo-christian redneck zealotry always is.

Enjoy it while you can, suckers!!!! BWAAAAA-HAAAAAAA-HAAAAAAA!

Gravatar Ah, I see. You're just pasting the same rant into the comments sections in a pathetic attempt to destroy morale.

Because you're soooo confident that those who disagree with you are doomed.

"Nuts."
