Have you read the quote in context? He was not talking about a civilian security force in America. He is talking about a civilian security force to help with overseas issues, presumably such as nation-building and keeping the peace. He spoke of the peace corps etc. It is probably not wise to post short clips like this, out of context. It just makes us look like a bunch of liars.
I've gota disagree with the last post. Do you really think that other countries would be OK with our setting up civillian armies overseas? Also, we already have a peace corps, and its purpose is not defense or security. I just don't like the idea of a White House which has told us to spy on our neighbors building up some nebulous defense system to fight some as yet unspecified enemy.
we have local police, state police patrol, US marshalls, border patrol, sheriff's department, FBI, Homeland Security, army national guards, us coast guards,, then army, navy, marines, the Reserves, and a few that I missed .... WE do not need his civilian force PEROID. We need to get a excellent Rep. to run in 2012 to get back to some where near normal. And remember to vote for all election that are comeing up, and the 2010 ones we can change this around.
