Meh, it's not the greatest ad, but it does explain some key facts -- the stimulus is not working.
I heard one radio interview where this guy was claiming that the stimulus was indeed working -- the poor sap was getting drilled by the host with the figures of job losses and he kept sticking to the narrative. Pathetic.
I believe much of the stimulus was spent on Kult Kool-aid.
The sad truth is that only 5% of the stimulus money has been spent. It's almost funny that the first thing bought was millions of dollars worth of signs stating this/that project is part of the "revitalization" project. Gag I guess that could go either way. People are going to see the sign and wonder what the hell are they talking about, they see no revitilation! And they will be a constant reminder of just how little Obama has accomplished. So maybe that was the best investment made to date with OUR money.
Where is the rest of the money? Why is Biden in Iraq when he's suppose to be the one keeping track of the stimulus money in the first place? Something is up, they want Biden out of the country so he won't muck something up. Count on it. Just like when Pelosi called the CIA liars, things got hot and she was shipped off overseas until things cooled down. These bunch of cretins are so predictable.
This is all on Obama, he can't blame Bush any more. It's all on him and he's failing everything miserably. He's putting all of his eggs in the ACORN basket in order to get re elected in 2012. And let's face it, he has to start campaigning soon so that's why all of the "move boldly and swiftly" crap he does.
Ask not how many jobs he saved, ask how many he lost.
Obama's strategy....keep the money until the 2010 election cycle is close, then spend it so he can say....look at all the new jobs, my plan is working! He's cunning in his logic. The money is NOT being spent on "shovel ready jobs" but will be spent close to the next election. My theory only!
Jules I wouldn't put it past him. Wait and bring businesses and small businesses to the brink and then offer them money to keep them afloat so to bring them all under the government's "care" and "provision"!

I live in a community that has not been hit bad by the recession. In fact, it is getting a big chunk of the stimulus money, but it is for a project that has been going on for about 15 years. It has new funding every year. It is larger this year, but we have reached a point where larger funds are needed. Somewhere around 4,000 jobs are going to be added for that project. It will in effect cause around 12,000 new jobs eventually.
However, we have reached a point that there is no money to build anything such as commercial building or even housing so we are kind of getting in a mess. Our apartments are at 97% occupency. No new housing is being built right now because banks are not loaning money. One of my customers told me last week that her husband lost his job for a large construction job because there is no money to borrow for new building. They have projects lined up. However, the owners do not have a way to get a loan.
Instead of just throwing money at just anything, the government needs to investigate why the banks are not loaning anything right now. Supposedly that is why the funds were given to banks so that loans could be made. It isn't happening.
Obama isn't smart enough to plan a one man parade. He and his posse are merely following Frank Marshall Davis, Sol Alinsky and other Marxist play books. Remember Emanuels words.

I've seen these signs south of Chicago and in Michigan. Each and every project was a superficial overlay of fresh asphalt with little or no repair to bridges or roadway. I would venture to guess that even these projects were in the pipeline BEFORE Porkulus was enacted.
There is no depth to this administration, it's all smoke, mirrors and propaganda.

Actually, the stimulus money that was sent to my community is something that would have been sent anyway. It is a project that will take decades. Many decades. It really has only just begun. It has just reached a point that a larger amount is needed right now so it looks like extra funds were sent our way through the generosity of BO. It is not the case.
Our biggest problem is getting the banks to start loaning again. The project is not dependent on loans. It is 100% government financed which it should be.

The stimulus was not thought out. The only way to get the economy stimulated is to make sure the CONSUMER END is buying. I cannot build the new garage I need if some liberals connected construction firm...(Rezko Inc.) is wasting federal stimulus dollars on pork projects;.

May I ask one question? Look at the graph of jobs lost, and note that they're disappearing at a fairly constant rate. Find the graph showing real vs projected unemployment over this same time frame.
Now tell me why if 500,000 jobs lost in May adds .4% to national unemployment, how come 470,000 jobs lost in June only adds .1% to that number.
The numbers do not add up. Someone is jiving us and thinks we can't add 2+2.
The unemployment rate should be closer to 9.8% I'm thinking.

A government can only actively create jobs when it hires more people (which is the last thing any country needs, MORE bureaucrats.) Other than that? Nope. The only thing a government can do for private companies is to make it comfortable for those companies to stay. That's it.
