This idea of spending our way out of the debacle is absolutely idiotic, and all those that are touting this as a way out, are insane!
The O is going to clamp down on government waste by appointing a czarina even while spending an extra $770 bi.
He'll attack the deficit simultaneously while expanding it to gargantuan proportions.
He's going to promote transparency, but can't/won't tell us where the last $800 bi in stimulation went.
He's going to promote bipartisanship presumably by appointing slime artists like Rahm Emmanuel and John Podesta to high positions.
He's only going to spend the next $770 bi in stimulus on things that really work, unlike presumably the trillions spent previously.
He's going to hold Wall Street accountable, while letting those who made "profound errors in Washington" like Barney Frank, Chris Dood, Chuck Shumer, Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelick off the hook.
And all of this will somehow restore our confidence in government. Riiighht.
He's as incompetent as I knew he'd be.

Obama's about to pull one of the greatest political cons in history.
Dems are always taking heat for pork and wasteful spending. Usually the fact that they have to defend it to the American people tends to slow them down.
But in an 'economic crisis', why, we need to increase federal spending and build bridges, roads, schools, etc. etc.! We can worry about the deficit later!
Now every Dem can load up on pork, regardless of cost, and pay off all his contributors and cronies, right under the American people's noses!
'Bridges to nowhere'? Try 'monuments to nowhere', 'city halls to nowhere', 'tunnels to nowhere', 'casinos to nowhere', 'stadiums to nowhere'....etc.
And the Dems and their media mouthpieces will call it 'patriotic'!

Create a crisis, demand massive government spending THEN tell the American public you have to raise taxes (or seize their assets) to pay for it all! Why would they need their capital after this since all their needs are going to be met by the government?!!?
The trouble with political hype is that too many of those spouting it begin to believe it. It is hyped that Bill Clinton deserves credit for the tech bubble economy that pulled us out of the 1990-91 recession. The reality is that it wasn't so much government extending unemployment compensation as it was the private sector through people like Gates, Jobs, Ellison, Berners-Lee and Dell that created the jobs. Ultimately the Gingrich Congress and Tech Sector produced an unanticipated surplus.
I heard this AM that we are in need of 1.2 trillion in pork if we are to pay off all the Obama voters.

Bush is leaving a $1.2 trillion+ deficit, injecting hundreds of billions into the banking and credit systems with minimal oversight. Iraq will end up costing between $1 and $2 trillion. But Obama is ruining America by wanting to get some bridges and schools built.
