Musings from the Bar Stools

I think we can reasonably argue that Yost is in fact trying or desirous of winning every game.
I'm unconvinced he knows how.

I think he may be commenting in the JS blog while he's managing.

I really wish this obsession with Ned Yost would stop. You know as well as I do that he not trying to lose any games. Why can't we at least enjoy the wins without criticizing Yost's every decision?
He may be a bad manager and you have every right to despise him but why let it ruin your enjoyment of the game and the Brewers?
I have a similar hatred of Bud Selig. However, I try to just forget that he's been the worst excuse for a commissioner that the game has ever seen and just enjoy what is left of the game he's tried to destroy.

I haven't had a single game ruined by Yost. I'm simply making sure to remain consistent. If this article had been written after a loss I would be accused of only criticizing Yost when they lose.
When Yost says a ton of stupid shit, I would be failing in my responsibility as a guy who writes in his moms basement wearing only underwear if I didn't tear his nonsense to shreds.
And while I don't think he is trying to lose games, the simple fact that he has not educated himself as fully as possible tells me he is not trying as hard as he should be to win every time out there.
His lack of knowledge on simple metrics shows him to be intellectually lazy, and when you are getting paid as much as he is there is no excuse for it.

Rob Y you are an idiot Bud Ruined Baseball?
Lets see you have small market teams Tampa and Milwaukee both making strong playoff runs
Attendance is up under his watch more teams are doing well economically
If anything Bud has ushered in a second golden age for MLB
To say Bud is the worst commissioner in the history of baseball is just plain stupid. And to say baseball is anywhere near being destroyed is also stupid
Bud may not have been a good owner but I believe he has been an outstanding commissioner for MLB.

I agree Chris, the commissioner has made baseball interesting again. Bud might allow stupid decisions on his watch, cf world series tie, but he has demonstrated the capacity to learn from mistakes and make the overall product more interesting. cf world series and home field advantage.
Best ever commish? i'm not so sure. he resolved the steroid abuse issue but how much of that was influenced by Congress? either way see above. he learned from the experience and got something done.

Worst manager in baseball? That thesis doesn't sync up too well with having the second best record in the NL.

Dusty Baker made a World Series.
What is your point?

As long as Dustbin Baker has a job, Yost will never be the worst manager in baseball.
