Musings from the Bar Stools

I'm in the same situation. We're obviously getting the Cubbies here so I have to rely on the radio too.

At least I haven't missed any offense.

yeah so far this is a game im glad im not watching

I mean, Kendall gets a 4 pitch walk. This guy has no control. Do Not Go Up There Hacking!!!

Rickie saw one pitch, Cameron down 0-2? That's idiotic baseball.

See! Don't swing at this guy unless you have too.

ned yost too smart for his own good yet again

So, this Gagne guy, pretty good pitcher eh?

My guess is Kendall missed the sign, but either way, it's another reason Yost needs to be fired. Poor communication comes from the top.

Now GAG-me can blow it. Back-to-back hits to open the inning. Here comes the sacrifice bunt.

I don't care if it was a communication error, the squeeze was retarded any way.

IBB to Pujols. In at the corners, DP depth in the middle, I would think.

Agree with you on that. Poor play selection.

fuck

The Boo Birds are out. And deservedly so.

Ned just cannot help himself he has to bring that fucker in because he has the closer title

that sad part it will not count as a blown save but you know what tie game in the 9th tomorrow or a save situation Ned the Zombie will trot that fucking waste of human life right back out there

At least Prince Fielder will get a shot.

>

who cares if it counts as a blown save or not?

"Gagne is my closer right now"

Neddy just now after the game.

keeps mentioning "the nine saves!"

what a fucking maroon.

I really do not think that Yost gives a fuck about winning his actions sure make it seem like he does not care

Yost's actions appears to be those of a man who's backed himself into a corner by sheer stubbornness and he simply refuses to be flexible enough to get out of that corner. It's hurting the ballclub.

Question ... firing Yost is one thing. Who do you replace him with? The Class AAA Nashville manager? Someone outside the organization? Ted Simmons, who is the most likely replacement? Someone else?

Simmons...with the Nashville guy coming in as the bench coach.

From what I've seen on TV, Simmons and Yost never sit together in the dugout...not sure what that's all about but it doesn't seem "normal".

oh God. Simmons, who has never been a manager on any level somehow lands a bench coach job now people seriously want him to manage a big league club?? And, to top it off, you want Kremblas to quit his job managing to be a bench coach mid-season.

Fire Yost, make Kremblas the manager, and send Simmons to AAA to see if he has any clue how to manage a ball club.

I'm for promoting Kremblas, since he's managed most of the team's key players at one time or another. However, that said, I think Simmons was brought in to serve the role of a vulture, circling around the carcass of Yost.

Yost said this week he won't light into his players. That, I believe, has led to an aura of complacency. Maybe they do need a good kick in the pants from time to time.

If they fire Yost and go with Simmons it pretty much is waving the white flag on this season. You don't try and make a playoff run by firing your manager and giving the job to a guy who has never managed before.

Fire them all leave Kremblas at Nashville bring in Pete Mackanin former reds manager see what he can do with this team for the rest of the season then if he cannot do it bring in Kremblas at the start of next season let him start fresh from spring training.

bringing in a guy with absolutely zero inside knowledge and no relationship with it's players half way through a season will put this team in the cellar, quickly. Not to mention you want to replace all the coaching staff too?? That sounds a lot like a 100 loss season to me.

If you are going to keep the coaching staff you might as well as keep Yost it is his guys and nothing will change even if he is gone.

Yes a 90 loss season will much less painful

We either need to bring up Kremblas or bring in a hard-ass.
