I cringed most of yesterday over that post. I think Bruce saw the huge potential upside of running with it even though it seemed to be sourced pretty thin, but I don't think he saw how big the downside of getting it wrong would be.

Could Yost still be gone when they get back to Milwaukee? Very possible. I think it is much more likely they'd do it before a homestand than during a road trip. And if you are the type to read into things, Melvin is in Nashville, where one of the likely interim prospects happens to manage. But by using that little word "today," they are stuck in a no win situation over there. They may have been sniffing the right trail, but they still pointed at the wrong time. It is unfortunate for them, and it is unfortunate for blogs in general.

And yes, Haudricourt needs a slapping. He either teed that one up on purpose to slap blogs down, or he was stupid and ran with something even he didn't believe to be true. Either way, he made this the big deal that it became.

BadgerBlogging needs a slapping. The value of a blog is its credibility. If you don't have it then people have no reason to visit. I no more give them a pass than i do the Journal or the NY Times.

They should get tarred and blasted. Free market forces are real and dangerous things. Don't F with them.

Yeah, here's the thing, he did not pass it off as a rumor but as soon to be breaking news. One can write on a blog and still cross over to being a journalist if they choose to do wear that hat. He certainly deserves most of the heat he is taking today- but I do not think that blogs, certainly not this one, deserve to be blamed for one wanna be journalist who missed wide right.

In other news, TH must have had bad room service in Pitts yesterday to have been that self-righteous and angry- either that or is just tired of following around the only 6th place team in baseball.

No, nobody else should be lumped in with asshat blogs, or any other asshat media, until they demonstrate the willingness to be an asshat.

If anything this blog should be scarfing up new readers because it provides wit, wisdom, and inciteful analysis.

I think Haudricourt deserves more blame than anyone.

By posting it in his blog, he gave credibility to the rumor. Of course, he immediately distanced himself from it, but he put it out there.

Then I heard him on Homer's show almost crying that Ned Yost is a human being and he's being treated unfairly. What bullshit. He fanned the flames. He's more widely read than Badger Blogger. And it's not his fault?

Fuck him.
