Thanks, Michael, for addressing Obama's comment about "mental distress" and "serious physical issue" as it relates to pregnancy, women, mothers and late term abortion.

All kinds of explanations are seeping out from Obama supporters, and that's fine, but the reality is: he has to come out and say what he meant - and what he doesn't mean.

To people who had even the slightest regard for the breadth of experience the Clintons or even McCain has, just as politicians, this is exactly the kind of statement, in a context no less, to make question marks stick.

My concern is that we already hear that he's rather closed to the public and the media, or at least his appearances and time are tightly controlled. To what end, if this is the kind of thing he's going to say?

And, of course - what we really need to know, those of us who are expecting to vote for him is, does he really believe this, and to what extent?

Thanks.

I am surprised to read this. I thought you were just an Obama shill. I dont doubt you will still vote for him, but at least you are honest enough to call it as you see it on the points you listed.

Ben, hand on hip glare again with smile: Come on! Seriously? You have thought of me as an Obama shill? Then you are not as good a reader or as frequent a reader of WLST as I would flatter myself with believing. I have never been for Obama, and I was never really "for" Clinton either. I've written numerous posts that express concern about Obama.

But you are right that yes, I will most likely still vote for him. But that doesn't and won't EVER stop me from pushing and pushing to get my elected officials to behave better, do better, be better. It's why I write about people I vote for and people who get elected and for whom I didn't vote.

I can attest Ben, Jill is definitely no Obama shill.

And that equivocation caused me serious alarm Jill.

I'll leave my remaining thoughts as they relate to yours with the last two lines of that post.
