In other, more important news, Childers wins the special election in Mississippi. Now 3/4 of their representatives are Dems. Ben Smith says:
The AP calls a tight race for Democrat Travis Childers in Mississippi, a win for the DCCC and a symbolic win for Obama, the GOP bogeyman of choice in the conservative Mississippi district, and a very bad sign for House Republicans.
fivethirthyeight.com had a cool analysis of what might happen if African-American, youth, and Latino voters increase by x amount. The best case scenario even had texas looking pale blue for the democrats. Its way too early to say but all signs look good for Obama.
Yeah, I really think all the handwringing over the last month (of which I'm as guilty of anyone) was really overcautious. (Democrats are the proverbial dog that's been kicked too much.)
Once Obama's the nominee we're going to find that we're looking at that landslide I've been talking about since January. At least I hope so.
