Thanks Prof. I think if America can get it's mind around something like this. If they can finally stand to view the world outside their ridiculous blinders... They'll be ready to start accepting A LOT more and and willing to start learning more about who their government is and how it works.

Holy crap what a great video.
Thanks Nate!
I've verified several of his assertions with hours of online research. So far my research has turned has corroberated him 100%. Every single fact.
You got me started doing the same thing. That seemed like a good idea, so I paused it and googled as I watched it.
I hope you don't mind me posting what I got here so far. I'm interested in any major points I missed or any better links to the ones I did catch...

Iran
In 1951, Dr. Mohammed Mossadegh, "the most popular politician in the country," was elected Prime Minister of Iran. His major election plank was the nationalization of the only oil company operating in Iran at that time – British Petroleum.
Though Mossadegh offered BP considerable compensation, his days were numbered from that point on. The British coordinated an international economic embargo of Iran, throwing its economy into chaos. And the CIA, at the request of the British, began spending millions of dollars on ways to get rid of Mossadegh….

The Capture of Basra, 5-21 November 1914
Battle summary
In this action the British secured oil supplies in the Middle East: this had immense strategic implications, as this oil field supplied most of the Royal Navy's fuel. To the Turks, the loss of Basra caused more loss of face than strategic damage. British casualties were fewer than 500. Turkish casualties were not less than 1000.

Thanks Nate for the flattering comments left on my Friendly Neighbour blog. Yes, of course you may cross-post my stuff any time you like. I am not concerned with intellectual property, but feel that it is vital to, as you say, get Joe six-pack's mind wrapped around the truth. "I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crises. The great point is to bring them the real facts." -- Abraham Lincoln

"Robert is currently working on getting his History of Oil released on dvd soon - we'll let you know the release date asap here (or join the mailing list or rss feed if you're feeling all modern and connected)."
The BEST way to get this out is to encourage him via numerous e-mails.
After that, some of you may want to ask about pricing by the CASE. I already have ...

Newman's point about where we should be applying the last gigabarrels of oil is spot on.
However, even Zinc Air fuel cells are just an energy carrier. The only technology that is going to end the petroindustrial era and allow us to move on is sustrained hydrogen fusion.
Imagine what kind of research the Trillion Dollars spent on the War in Iraq would have bought? Tokamak, bubble cavitation, cold fusion, the whole gamut could have been advanced more in 5 years than it had since it started.
THAT is the real shame of modern capitalism. Short sightedness. Fatal short sightedness. And my son has to grow up and raise his children in the resulting world.
Pisses me off, it does.
