Snow demonstrates such a blatant lack of understanding regarding what racism is and how it operates that it seems absurd - can any U.S.-er with a functioning brain actually speak these words? Of course "sensible" people don't "support" racism DIRECTLY. What does this even mean? Of course "nobody of importance preaches it." But, again this is an utterly empty statement, devoid of any functional meaning. Racism, like sexism, classism, etc. do not need to be "preached" or "supported" to continue their deep and destructive effects. Look no further than African American incarceration rates to know that racism, for all those guys rotting in prisons at least, is still a very big deal. And that's only the tip of the iceberg. These things are part of our culture and so they need to be dragged out in the open again and again and be actively, thoughtfully, carefully COUNTERACTED so they can continue to loose their deep hold on our social psyche. Ignoring racism et al will never make them go away.
Snow is wrong, but he wasn't press secretary in 03 so he couldn't be expected to be in line with Bush's speech. I despise Bush and Snow by association, but this is a stupid comparison.

So in WH Press Secretary David Snow's logic : Only if you could bare any colored people from running for office, would you cure the whole problem… and all these tasteless accusations !!!
It reminds me of the "philosophical" hypothesis we heard about the good effect an abortion plan focused on African Americans would have on the crime rate ! And that one was a pervert try to rally religious blacks against abortion right !

Rock on Strawberry! I remember my green belt. I got it when I was twelve and I stood ten feet tall that day. I hope they keep sticking with it. It has so many lasting effects they are hard to count. I hope they're not back fisting any more lamps and vases.
