Gravatar Well made point.

Gravatar I think the web cam idea is great. Rather than just having a security camera, that may or may not be monitored, put it on the web. Just knowing that someone might be watching would help. As would some visible enforcement of the rules. It should be pretty easy to install without having exposed wires to cut, too.

Gravatar I was just over on the Trib forum, reading about this stuff. Do some of those people even have a clue what goes on in this town? One guy states "Maybe it is time to close the skate park as no one seems to care or able to offer solutions to the problem other than that's what they do in other citys." Does this guy live in a damn bubble?

Gravatar Um, yes. He does. That's bubble boy. Haven't you met him?

Gravatar Really? Donald? He doesn't even know about Moops.

Gravatar Firefly’s concession stand idea is awesome, but you’re thinking too small. I think that they need to lease the area next to the skate park to a drive through coffee shop. One with a big patio and/or windows overlooking the skaters. Cameras recessed into the buildings roof structure could spy on the park from above the reach of the juvenile delinquents.

It would be called the ‘Narc in the Park’. They would serve coffee and pastries and other police magnets. The GFPD could work some kind of deal where each officer got $50 a month credit there or some kind of discount program to attract even more police.

The constant police presence would chase away the troubled teens and allow the good kids to skate safely and happily.

Gravatar You might ask, “Why would the park and recreation and police department show such favoritism to a business?”

Because it won’t really be a business! It will be an elaborate sting operation. It would make the perfect staging area for a group of ‘21 Jump Street’ style hip undercover cops. (We might be able to recruit skateboarding cops from California) The bitter irony of undercover police working out of a place called the ‘Narc’ would be lost on the criminals until it was too late. (Criminals are kind of thick that way).

Gravatar Thanks Bingo, that was really good!
