Man, it's going to be weird with you gone.
Even weirder that you live a couple blocks away now and I've never had a drink with you.
I'd love it if you could find someone to take over the local news stuff for NKyNews...
I gotta say, I wish we had more time, but I can literally FEEL how happy you are at the prospect of moving.

Well.. The field is wide open for someone to take the helm of a new Northern Kentucky blog. And as you know, there are a number of v. good nky bloggers out there. I link to some of them.
As far as for it being weird, it will be weird for me, too. The nice thing with a blog is that everyone can keep up with you no matter where you go. Thank goodness.
Ya, I am happy. Really frazzled and overwhelmed and stressed out, but, happy. My family, I could cry about how good they are to me. One niece found the apartment. One brother is flying out to help me move. Mom and sisters and other brothers and nieces and nephews and everyone else all offering emotional support.
Although I was on the phone with my mom today and here's how our conversation went:
"Oh, mom, I'm so worn out. Today I interviewed two green businesses for a book about Cincinnati, pitched a new client, did my regular work for another client, talked on the phone to at least a dozen other people, picked up boxes and met with my landlord to talk about updates she'll do after I am gone. I'm exhausted."
Classic reply from mom: "Well, you're leaving in less than two weeks. You need to get busy."

Man...you're SURE you want to go home?!?!?
That is so typical of certain Mom's. Like mine.

Ha, I know. I said, "What does it sound like I'm doing? Taking a nap!?!"
I mean, jeez. But compared to my folks I probably am a slacker.

Sorta unrelated, but people have very distorted views of what work is for others.
E.g., many, MANY people think that talking on the phone isn't work. Until you do some selling, or deal making, or coordinating, or interviewing, or pretty much anything that doesn't entail making dinner plans or coordinating outfits...
Some think sitting at the computer is slacking off. Now, it can be, to be sure, but try watching the futures market, several portfolios, and interest rates while all while maintaining an online community.
Meanwhile, I look at many of the physical trades as more fun than work. Even now that we're doing the rehab (though I admit, I'm seeing more of the work aspects, and my back and legs certainly appreciate the work).
If it's not something that your Mom expects and understands, in her eyes, it's probably not really work. Maternal blind spot.

I'll keep reading your blog - whatever it ends up being called - and please stay in touch.
