It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye

Today's post reminds me of that Peter Cook sketch from the Beyond the Fringe days - 'The Great Train Robbery', which begins with something like, "We should point out that the Great Train Robbery involved no loss of train".

I had a similar 7.35 experience in Trafalgar Square the other Sunday night. My bus took cover behind a tourist bus to casually drive straight past me.An impressive feat given that I was running and waving my arms at the time.

Isn't it a single track railway too? Even harder for a little chuffer to hide.

Ha! you were cloaked too Jake - that's why the bus didn't see you.

Yes, it is only a single track. You'd think that might make it simpler? Apparantly no.

And to think that The Simpsons (aka The Bible) last night was all about WALKING to work; chastising drivers. And Homer said he wouldn't take public transport because it was only for"jerks and lesbians". Very PC.
Anyhow, I feel invisible pretty much all the time, plus it takes about 45 minutes to walk to work, and I hate buses, and trains are too expensive.

I don't know what my point is, but basically I need a private Lear jet.

erm...not quite sure what that makes me....I'd love to be able to walk to work, but think 16 miles is maybe a bit much.

Buses are absolutely awful aren't they?

*hides from wrath of bus enthusiasts everywhere*
