Perhaps he needed the time off so he could work himself up to having a holiday from work!
Who knows what's in his head!
I've never seen anyone sit at an empty desk and make no pretence of working - for four days - before.
No shuffling a pile of papers.
No sharpening pencils.
No sorting out the files.
Nothing.
There's someone at The Other Station who's been off for two summers in a row now with depression. People are ever so cruel, jumping to all sorts of unwarranted assumptions, especially this year when he went off to Majorca to deal with his inner demons on the beach.
Now now looby, summer can be such a difficult time for people with stress issues. Especially the ones who also enjoy major sporting events and/or sunshine.
