It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye

Do you not think that it's a part of human nature to always want that little bit more - be that a better job, life or wife? We find it almost impossible to take a look at our lives and say 'Yeah actually I'm doing pretty good here.'

As I'm an irritatingly smug sort of person I've never had a problem with the 'actually, I'm doing pretty good here' approach (when justified) - I never thought I'd suffer from the ...'so...what's next then?' feeling. That's what took me by surprise I think.

I call it the "disillusionment switch". Mine went off when I hit thirty.

It was more to do with life stages, responsibilities and a sense of worth than about wanting that little bit more.

It came about following a sudden realisation that yes, maybe I do want children someday after all.

bloody hell.

didn't see that coming.

I know exactly what you mean.

Beth - Neither did I til best friend was expecting and my whole outlook on life became a whole different outlook on life.

Leanne - assuming you live semi-locally, come over to ours one night and look after our tripets while we go out to the pictures and a drink. Just to see what you're letting yourself in for

Wow.
I so know what you mean.
(And hell yes isn't this body mass index life boring).

Have to say... this is the most open i've ever read from you on here!
You go girl

x

Delboys Daughter - hello...you know, you *really* remind me of someone...I don't know if I've got a lot more to expose, but as I'll probably be too paranoid to write about work for a while, who knows what might come out?

Sounds good to me! Although there is something to be said for cryptic posts. They too have that lovely air of mystery. Probably as with all things, a little of everything is just yummy!
