It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye

No Take That?

bedshaped - fortunately I am too old to have anything other than an ironic opinion on Take That. That 'Back For Good' wasn't half bad mind.....

Argh, there's a really dire live version of the Yachts' Suffice To Say on the North By Northwest compilation - it even has a horrible cod reggae bit at the beginning!

(another old person writes ...)

If you want more Johnny Cash, you can't go wrong with Folsom Prison Blues, which is a mighty fine song in my opinion - "and I'd let that lonesome whistle blow my blues away".

Well, I've still got 2 choices left - and because I've only got 2 left I can't make any sort of decision - it's as if it was important or something!

Goombay Dance Band?

The Yachts? Who dat? Am I showing my relative youth?

backroads - there's always one...but why is it always you?

Timbo - You are a mere babe alongside the likes of me & betty.

I must show my youthful ignorance as well, sorry.

I can't stand Take That, or any of their songs...but dammit ever since Never Forget was played at the end of our former Student Union closing down, AND the grad ball, it always makes me cry. Curses.

wouldn't worry joe, many people who were 'of age' at the time won't have a clue either!
(but for the snogging, maybe I wouldn't've remembered)

as for songs/bands you don't like but which become associated with good/significant times...don't you just hate it when that happens?

Yes and no. Memories are better than music. Never thought I'd say that!

Memories and music are so often inextricably bound together in my experience. (I'm afraid I don't remember The Yachts - that particular Fresher's Ball was obviously not as significant for me... dammit).
