It's always better never to meet famous people you admire, I think. Though Jonathan Miller was very nice to me once.
John Noakes always used to complain about not being insured properly by the BBC. Now we know better: he used to get stunt doubles to do all that stuff like shinning up flagpoles and going down the Cresta run.
At least Peter Purves walked it like he talked it. He saw The Fall live, anyway.
