It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye |

Don't you wish you could stop the train and go and see all the lambs face to face? |
|
not sure i want to be face to face with lambs, exactly, i think they are better from a distance....or served up with some nice new potatoes.... |

Spooky - I just finished re-reading Ladder of Years. I love it too. That bit where she's in the bare room with the single grey dress and the reading light. It reminds me of Straight Lines by Suzanne Vega, which is one of my favourite songs ever. But yeah, the ending's wrong. It's a book that shouldn't end, just... stop. |

Oooh I should clearly read that book. Of course what I will instead to is put it on that oh-so-familiar list of things-we-will-do-one-day (except-we-wont-who-do-we-think-we-are-kidding-
for-Gods-sake). Mind those hyphens-after-each-word are difficult as hell once you have a few drinks inside of you. |

Staying on beyond your stop is the best! Bought a bus ticket from London to Amsterdam after one family bust-up and didn't get off till Berlin. Thoroughly recommended. |

Don't be trying it on the Northern Line. That way Morden lies. |

I just love Anne Tyler - what a great writer. The drawback is that I almost always end up blubbing like a little baby at some point during her novels. She writes about grief, sadness and lost hopes like nobody else. |
