I didn't go and see them at the SECC because it's the worst concert venue in the world. I'm jealous that, despite it being an arena, at least Manchester has one that isn't all bad.

Ahh cheers. There really is something special in a band that can make that monstrosity of an arena seem intimate.
Tis true. I saw Coldplay at Wembley Arena with a friend who's a massive fan, and it was a revelation. They made it feel genuinely intimate. My respect for them soared at that point. They had the same effect headlining the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.
