It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye

Whenever I can't think what to listen to these days, I listen to your last.fm station. So I probably agree with every word you say. Except for the gigs, where of course I would put in a bid for Patti Smith.

Happy New Year to you and Tim btw. And I expect my dad's finished the jigsaw I sent him for Christmas, so you could probably pop round and borrow it if you wanted. xx jo

I feel disproportionally pleased at the thought of you enjoying my radio station - in much the same way as I still feel compelled to press mix cd's onto people in the hope that they'll hear something they like.

(There isn't too much sky on that jigsaw of your dad's is there? If not, I might take you up on it!)

ps Happy New Year to you & M also!

No sky at all! It's Ravensburger's Mixed Pasta jigsaw. 1500 pieces, and a 'bastard', apparently. I did well. Nobody else will do it until me and M get there next (assuming we stay sober long enough), so let me know if you want a go!

Yay for 'Dreamworld'! The best song Fleetwood Mac never recorded, and coming from my world that's some compliment. Also good to hear you've gone for The National's album. I saw them live earlier in the year and just blew me away.

Lots of the rest is new to my ears, so I will check em out. Happy New Year and all that.

Enjoyed reading your lists, some new stuff to check out. As for gigs I would put forward Patti Smith at the Glasgow ABC, and Stone Sour and Flyleaf at the Glasgow Carling Academy. A new unsigned band you might like to check out are the Dirty Demographic from Glasgow, their on line EP can be heard on their my space site at: www.myspace.com/thedirtydemographic

A happy and enjoyable 2008 to you.

I feel out of touch and unable to write any kind of end-of-year lists. Hopefully this is the hangover of New Year's festivities, as writing lists was a big part of my life...

Happy New Year x

I know LastFm says that we have very little in common musically, but I am going to seek out something from your top five albums and download it, just to see if it is musical taste or just musical ignorance on my part.

Happy New Year Beth, I hope 2008 is good to you.

Oh and great blanket, reminds me of one that I had as a child, and is still around the house somewhere

joe - tired of lists, tired of life?? (I don't really think that's true, btw)

Alan - I am very proud of my blanket. Particularly because I was only trying to use up some odds and ends of wool that I had lying around.(Well, stuffed in a big box taking up far too much room actually).

winter & Del (and Alan, again) - if you hear anything new that you like, as a result of any of my lists then My Work Here Is Done.

oh, jo - pasta is for eating, not for jigsaws!!!
