two opposite sides of the spectrum seems to beg the question, "what ever happened to simply using soap?"
It certainly wouldn't happen in my local branch. You only have to be within about twenty yards of their perfume counters and some heavily made up modom will immediately swoop down and ask "can I help you?" (as in "don't even think of using the samplers unless you're definitely going to spend at least £100").
