In a further, playlist-related conicidence, I saw a Steely Dan tribute band a few months ago. Tribute bands seem de rigueur in the last few years. They weren't bad actually.
I've never seen Randy or Okkervil River. I'll keep an eye out for their tribute acts though.

And seeing that you soundtracked your last post with Death Cab, I take you you like the new album. I like it, but if I want tunes, it'll be Plans or one of the early albums for me, and for atmosphere Transatlanticism.
By the way, get yourself some Mates of States. I think you'd like 'em. Upbeat indie pop, but better than that sounds. Oh oh oh... and Weezer's new album. A couple of really good tracks amid the usual "oh piss off Cuomo" moments.
Definitely a compliment, but it doesn't feel that way, does it? It's the "that old" that really gets you, because when I think about it, I find it appalling as well - I can't really be THAT old can I? Oh bugger, I am.
Dude - I'm not sure about the new Death Cab yet (apart from 'I will possess your heart' obviously). I'm thinking (hoping?) it might be a bit of an 'Under The BlackLight' and all make sense live.
I've heard a few Mates of States tracks but am not getting it - a bit like Neko Case - I think I ought to like...but somehow can't quite...
